Scone Variation Recipes Thread?

Because I really enjoy scones (plain ones are just fine), I just thought I'd try to start a thread. About delicious variations. This is a "cheese biscuit" a friend delighted me with, serving a lunch (I was a lucky guest).

(Ingredients are simple, but look through & have everything on the counter before starting to mix.

Before mixing-in the milk, pre-heat oven to 450F)

2 c flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
Mix these dry ingredients well
1/4 c Butter - Grate cold butter into flour mixture (stir in)
1 cup (or more) grated cheese. I use old cheddar for its flavor.
Stir in cheese to the Flour/Butter mixture

1 cup Buttermilk (OR milk, having added 1 tbsp. vinegar / let sit for 5 minutes)
Add Milk all at once and stir, don't knead. Just work it enough to incorporate all the flour, and hold together. (Sometimes a little more milk may help.)
Use a serving spoon to scoop portions and shape with hands (no more than 2" diameter). I've come to prefer an ice cream scoop.

Put onto a cookie sheet, these should make about 12 biscuits.

Bake in HOT oven, 450F for 10-15 minutes.
