Armed Venezuelan gang members caught on camera entering Colorado apartment

Not too surprising. Even when I was growing up in Denver, during the 50's and 60's, East Denver/Aurora was the center of most of the crime in the Denver area....mostly committed by the "people of color". Now, with the "woke" attitude that has taken over much of Colorado, and thrown the door open to the illegals, their gangs are taking over. Just as the Latino drug gangs have pretty much taken over the areas once ruled by the Crips and Bloods in California, a similar transition is taking place in Denver.

I have several cousins who still live in the Denver area...mostly in the Northern and Western suburbs. They NEVER go into the East Denver areas.

I saw on TV where they interviewed the woman who's Ring doorbell camera recorded the break-in seen in the above referenced footage. The woman said she called 911 several times and the police refused to come. Colorado governor Jared Polis dismisses the concern of gangs taking over apartment buildings regardless of what is seen in the video. I am glad I don't live in Colorado.

I sure wouldn't want to live there either

They're taking advantage of people without the resources to move at will which they know. They also know they will be less likely to fight.

A local police or sheriff's department needs to put a police substation in or near that building. Alot communities had them in the past but many also got rid of them because of stressed resources.

Rumors that the Hells Angels motorcycle gang is headed to Colorado to confront those gangs. Rumor.

But sooner or later this will fester local rivalries especially once others start seeing the cash that gang takes in.

Several Venezuelan gang members were caught on camera carrying weapons while entering an apartment complex in Colorado that is home to some migrants.

Weird report from the Toronto Sun.

First, a photo of some armed men knocking on the door of a unit in Aurora, Colorado. That would be very alarming in Australia but what is the law about open carry of automatic weapons in Colorado? Is it illegal?

Then, we have some footage of some prisoners painting over graphiti in some urban location in Venezuela.

Irrelevant much.

Note - I see that Aurora, Colorado is a Home Rule County. Is this a plus or a minus when dealing with armed gangs?

Nope, you can legally open carry in Colorado. You need a permit to conceal carry, but as long as you're not hiding your weapon, it's perfectly legal.

Referring to the picture where armed men are "brandishing" weapons in there hands is not considered open carry. What that picture shows is a serious crime in all states. Open carry refers only to carrying a holstered weapon in plain sight.

I saw on news blurb last eve that a car dealership somewhere
was raided cause they were flying criminals in and loan/rent
them cars, to rob folks, even give out locations to rob!!!
I saw that on the news too. That people, no matter who they are, feel so emboldened that they can break into peoples' homes and terrorize them is a scary sign of what the world is becoming. It proves that there are no safe havens.

There have always been raids on homes & villages by hoards of various persuasions throughout time. Our world has never seen the current safety it enjoys today, despite wars, despite crimes.

I guess you've got a point Pepper. That these incidences are being reported on the news (daily) adds to the perception that they are happening more frequently. I guess you saw about the random stabbings in NYC. One poor man died. I'm sure he never dreamed he wouldn't make it home from work that day because some maniac would stab him...around 8:30 a.m. no less!
