First heard this coming off shift, the sound coming from the room of a friend in the barracks, back in 1973.
He usually had Jazz playing on his Reel to Reel and we enjoyed Hennessy Cognac and Jazz together.
Knocked and asked what that song was.

"Ship Ahoy, the O'Jays".

Asked him to start it again and we sat quietly and listen.
Passed a bottle of Boone's Farm Wine between us and just listened.
Thinking of those times.

Wow...very early Temptations! @Pepper My BFF, who is Italian, played for and toured with The Crystals. In addition to Pop artists, she also played for other R & B artists...the Drifters, Mary Wells, Queen Esther Marrow and Li'l Anthony to name a few.

@OneEyedDiva ... Didn't know the Supremes and the Temptations were once one group before they split and achieved fame each in their own right. Here they are together again together on the Ed Sullivan show and singing a medley of each other's hits
