Carrots on recall due to disease,

The recall applies to carrots sold at Trader Joe's, Wegmans, Sprouts, 365 from Whole Foods, Good & Gather from Target, Marketside from Walmart, GreenWise from Publix, Simple Truth from Kroger, and more. A full list is available on the FDA website.
Well crud... sure wish you hadn't said that, Hermit! I saw the recall yesterday and was glad it had only said Whole Foods and Trader Joe's at first because I don't shop there... and had just used a whole bag of those carrots in homemade veggie soup. But they were Marketside. I guess the positive on that is that I'm actually sitting here drinking coffee this morning and not in the ER, eh? @HermitHogan

But sheesh, what's with all the recalls lately?!

Iā€™ve been thinking about the various food recalls and believe that the markets need to up their game.

It seems like the markets where I have a loyalty card should be able to have their IT folks scan my purchases and send an email notification.

It also seems that they should also be able to use that information to program a refund the next time I scan my loyalty card.

Could it be that the national food testing system is actually effective at finding problems in the food supply ? Isn't that why it exists?

Yes, I call them Killer Karrots because one person died. At first there were 13 states, last I heard, there were more but I don't know how many more. There has also been a recall on ground beef. I keep sayin' it.....soon it won't be safe to eat or drink anything!
