Coke or that other one

As a teen I always remembered that coke will take off the rust off my 1960 Ford bumper.
Now its greatly improved.

1.Removes grease stains from clothing and fabric
2.Removes rust; methods include using fabric dipped in Coke, a sponge or even aluminum foil. Also loosens rusty bolts
3.Removes blood stains from clothing and fabric.
4.Cleans oil stains from a garage floor; let the stain soak, hose off.
5.Kills slugs and snails; the acids kills them.
6.Cleans burnt pans; let the pan soak in the Coke, then rinse.
7.Descales a kettle (same method as with burnt pans)
8.Cleans car battery terminals by pouring a small amount of Coke over each one.
9.Cleans your engine; Coke distributors have been using this technique for decades.
10.Makes pennies shine; soaking old pennies in Coke will remove the tarnish.
11.Cleans tile grout; pour onto kitchen floor, leave for a few minutes, wipe up.
12.Dissolves a tooth; Use a sealed container…takes a while but it does work.
13.Removes gum from hair; dip into a small bowl of Coke, leave a few minutes. Gum will wipe off.
14.Removes stains from vitreous china.
15.Got a dirty pool? Adding two 2-liter bottles of Coke clears up rust.
16.You can remove (or fade) dye from hair by pouring diet Coke over it.
17.Remove marker stains from carpet. Applying Coke, scrubbing and then clean with soapy water will remove marker stains.
18.Cleans a toilet; pour around bowl, leave for a while, flush clean.
19.Coke and aluminum foil will bring Chrome to a high shine.
20.Strips paint off metal furniture. Soak a towel in Coke and lay it on the paint surface

#18 - Reminds me of when my mother was still alive. Anytime she would see someone drinking a coke, she would have to remind them how good coke was for cleaning toilets .. :) ... and drains.

MANY years ago, the "other one" had an ad campaign called "The Pepsi Challenge" , where they would stop shoppers to taste a sample of each, Coke & pepsi and state which one they liked best. They came to my supermarket and I took the challenge. Foolishly, I babbled how I preferred Coke before I sipped. When asked which one I liked best.. I CHOSE THE PEPSI!

The Highway patrol would carry gallons of coke in trunk to remove blood from highway accidents! I favor Pepsi myself.

To each his own, but when I think back on when I drank soda pop, I liked coke better, LOL! Now if I have any pop, which is rare, I like Sprite/Mist;)

The Mexican version is supposedly much better tasting than what is sold in the US these days.
They make it like it used to be here, with cane sugar.

I tried one.

You can get them at Walmart by the bottle.

Comes in the old style glass bottle, too. About a buck apiece for 12 oz.

It's pretty good, but honestly, I prefer the American version with HFCS.

And actually, it seems that several grocery store brands (or maybe one company who makes it for several grocery stores) has figured out Coke's recipe, because a few of them have gotten theirs to taste so close to Coke, you can no longer tell the difference.

Interesting, so they bottle pop in Mexico. I guess I think of them having no industry at all. It's all to do about resources, so maybe because of the water, and other ingredients, it is a different flavor;) I want to view your vid, and will later. I have to get moving on this last bit to do before leaving for my sisters. Thanks for the info Bonnie;) denise

Hubby and I got Cokes in the bottle in a taqueria last week. When we went to leave,I assumed the bottles were recyclable but hubby said no,they said to just pitch them. I looked at the bottle and sure enough,it was from Mexico. It was a glass bottle but a weird glass-almost felt half glass, half plastic.

Probably many people think that. But they are moving ahead on all fronts, manufacturing and industry. .. many car plants are there.

"Mexico now claims the largest concentration of medical device manufacturers in all of North America, and Mexico is headed towards being one of the top 10 largest producers of automobiles in the world."

The number of American companys moving to Mexico ,TODAY,would not fit on 10 pages here.

American companys that have moved to China in the past are now coming back to Mexico in huge numbers because of political unrest in China.

Right you are. Times are changing .. the latest in the movement:

With labor costs rising rapidly in China, American manufacturers of all sizes are looking south to Mexico with what economists describe as an eagerness not seen since the early years of the North American Free Trade Agreement in the 1990s. From border cities like Tijuana to the central plains where new factories are filling farmland, Mexican workers are increasingly in demand.
American trade with Mexico has grown by nearly 30 percent since 2010, to $507 billion annually, and foreign direct investment in Mexico last year hit a record $35 billion. Over the past few years, manufactured goods from Mexico have claimed a larger share of the American import market, reaching a high of about 14 percent, according to the International Monetary Fund, while China’s share has declined.
