Has anyone ever gone to a retreat?

I've heard of silent meditation retreats, but never been on one. I don't know if I could handle being with strangers like that. I can see it could be beneficial to step away from the merry go round of life.

Back years ago people used to go to 'health farms', fasting and so on. Do people still do that these days and have you ever considered silent retreats yourself?

I've been to a couple of management retreats. A few of the other managers were a little snobby when they learned I hadn't attended or have a college degree.

I came face to face with the manager of purchasing & he actually thanked me for proving him wrong when I didn't follow purchasing protocol.

All in all the experience was worth what the CEO intended.

I've never been to a retreat. Several years ago, Muslim women went on a retreat but I didn't go. I had stopped driving by then and I wouldn't have wanted my husband to drop me off. Also I probably wouldn't have known any of the "Sisters" there.

I live alone so when I feel the need for a retreat I just go home. šŸ˜‰šŸ¤šŸ˜‚

I did attend several work related retreats but never a spiritual or healing retreat.

I would prefer to create my own retreat by renting a secluded little cottage for a week or two.

That was a truly good manager, who makes people feel part of the team.
