So far 60 arrests and at least 10 Israelis assaulted. Some reports said there were kidnappings but not confirmed yet..
 
This is a very horrific event. Given the fact that the German "3rd Reich" of Hitler which during it's rule over the Netherlands was bringing many Jews into concentration and extermination camps, especially from Amsterdam, tomorrow has it's commemoration day for the 'Kristallnacht' (Night of Broken Glass", 9 - 10 November 1938), adds just more horror for the Jews who were yesterday evening attacked there.

I am deeply disgusted that such atrocious crimes happened in Amsterdam and hope that the Netherlands will deport the criminals to Israel for trial.

Feels like a reemergence of Nazism.

When I was a kid, my grandfather (the one who owned a dairy farm here in Sacramento) told me that back in the mid-40s, some people burned down a neighboring farmer's barns because he was German. He told me that him and that neighbor, Mr. von Barren, and 1 or 2 other guys were up all night guarding his farm for the next 3 nights...walking around with rifles, drinking coffee to keep awake.

It was a sheep farm.

Gramps farm was also not far from a farm that was owned by a Japanese family who were interred during WWII. Gramps and his ranch hands kept Kinichi's farm going until he and his family were released a couple years later. The family never went back to their farm. Kinichi sold it as soon as he could. (I only remember his first name)

Another cruelty is that Calif made it illegal for Kinichi to sell his own farm because he'd been interred. He had to sign everything over to someone else and have them sell it. That took almost a year to finalize. Meanwhile, Kinichi was expected to keep the farm up (support it financially), but he was unemployed for several months, and had a family to feed and house, so the place was pretty neglected by the time someone bought it, and he had to sell it cheap.

Not that he really cared....he just wanted out of Calif.
 
Israel is definitely losing the "morality" war. Israel is seen as intent on liquidating their opponents, regardless of the death and destruction that causes to innocents. Israel has the right to protect itself from atrocities inflicted on it. Out-atrocitizing your foe, doesn't make you many friends.

Well, if Israel's opponents would stop attacking Israel, Israel would stop retaliating. They're just fed up and want to end the problem once and for all. The problem is: they're surrounded by countries that hate them and they can't fight everybody (although they have in the past and won).

It will be interesting to see what happens with the new administration, which is much more pro-Israel than the current one.

Yes.

And Hamas literally uses civilians as a shield. That isn't rhetoric. And many of the civilians have been brainwashed to feel honored to die for them, and to let their children die for them. They believe it is their destiny according to their god. That's Hamas's doing.

Hamas knows that Israel doesn't want to harm civilians, and that it goes against everything Israeli Jew's believe. That's why it's taken 70-some years of harassment from Hamas to bring the Israeli's to this point. Oct 7th was the last straw. And early in the retaliation, the IDF sent various warnings to civilians in Gaza letting them know they were going to bomb this place and that, so they'd have time to get out or stay away from there.

But a lot of them preferred to stay and die, to fulfill their destiny of martyrdom and show it to the world, to glorify Hamas and make Israel appear evil. They are tools.
