King Charles III seems in good spirits amid cancer in latest public appearance

"King Charles took royal fans by surprise with his delightful appearance at Dumfries House to support his charity, The King’s Foundation."

"The video from Charles’ last week’s appearance was shared by the Royal Family’s Instagram on Thursday in which he could be seen beaming with joy, exuding better health condition amid cancer battle."

"Clad in a beige three-piece suit, which he paired with sky-blue button-down shirt, Charles met his foundation’s graduates, and warmly greeted locals on an estate walk. During his visit, his majesty also spoke to school pupils on outdoor learning sessions."

"The video was accompanied by the caption that read, “The King was at Dumfries House last week to support his charity, The King’s Foundation.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla are remembering Dame Maggie Smith. On Sept. 27, the King released a statement following the distinguished British actress' death at age 89.

"My wife and I were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Dame Maggie Smith. As the curtain comes down on a national treasure, we join all those around the world in remembering with the fondest admiration and affection her many great performances, and her warmth and wit that shone through both on and off the stage," the King said in a statement.

King Charles Speaks Publicly with Stunning Speech

"Today, The King spoke of his family’s deep affection for Scotland and the enduring relationship between the Parliament, the Crown and the people of Scotland during his address to the Scottish Parliament to mark its 25th anniversary."

“We are all, at the end of each day, united by our love of Scotland. Because of its natural beauty, of course, but also because of its strength of character, based as it is on the extraordinary diversity of its peoples, whose range of ideas, skills, energy, passions, and frequently deeply-held beliefs, never cease to inspire me.

From the central belt, to the North Highlands, across the islands, in Ayrshire, in the Borders, the cities, towns, and villages, or the coastal communities, who, I wonder, could not fail to be moved by this complex Caledonian Kaleidoscope?”

"King Charles III is to “pause” his cancer treatment, understood to be a weekly regimen, for 11 days as he undertakes his high-profile royal tour of Australia next week."

"The king, 75, was diagnosed with cancer in February this year and has been receiving treatment on a weekly basis ever since. The palace have not said what form the therapy is taking and have not specified the type of cancer the king is suffering with."

"However the Daily Mail reported Monday that the monarch, 75, has been told by doctors that he can take 11 days off his treatment when he and Queen Camilla leave for Australia on October 18, accompanied by a traveling doctor."

"The tour will see the king visit Sydney and Canberra, and then Charles will travel on to the South Pacific nation of Samoa, where he will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM)."

"The Mail said the king would “continue with his ongoing cancer treatment right up until he flies” and would “pick up” his treatment “as soon as he returns to the U.K.” after the 30,000 mile round trip." MORE

King Charles suffers 'slap in the face' as Australian politicians snub monarch ahead of royal tour

King Charles III is facing a significant snub from Australian politicians ahead of his upcoming royal tour. No state premiers plan to attend the monarch's welcome event in Canberra on October 21.

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and her deputy, Ben Carroll, have declined the invitation, citing a cabinet meeting. Instead, Victoria will be represented by parliamentary secretary Nick Staikos and state Governor Margaret Gardner, a known republican.

King Charles III took a thoughtful decision just a couple of days before kicking off his first international trip as monarch.

"In a surprising update, The Prince's Trust, which was founded in 1976 when the monarch was the Prince of Wales is officially renamed as the King's Trust."

"Approved by the Privy Council, a new logo has also been introduced, which is designed by a former beneficiary of the charity, James Sommerville OBE."

"The new logo features a crown, which is giving off the impression of young people, to demonstrate the cause of the charity."

"As per the reports, this new logo which also includes a tagline "working for young people", will be launched globally at the Trust's digital platforms today, October 15, 2024."

"King Charles has officially made history. He and Queen Camilla have just touched down in Sydney, Australia, for his first visit to the nation since becoming monarch. The king, 75, and his wife, 77, are kicking off a royal tour that includes several days in Australia and Samoa."

"Today (or "tonight" in Australia), King Charles stepped off the plane at Sydney International Airport with Queen Camilla staying dry under one of the signature royal umbrellas. And as cameras snapped and heads of state (including the Australian Prime Minister) shook hands, there was an even grander greeting taking place."

Projected upon the world famous Sydney Opera House were giant photographs of the king and queen from previous visits to Australia. Talk about rolling out the red carpet.

"Just hours before their arrival (and likely while they were mid-flight), King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a personal message on social media, calling out their excitement for the royal tour."

"Their message read, "Ahead of our first visit to Australia as King and Queen, we are really looking forward to returning to this beautiful country to celebrate the extraordinarily rich cultures and communities that make it so special. See you there!"

"Diagnosed with an undisclosed form of the disease in February, Charles did not address his illness publicly during the tour. But nor did he totally shy away from it -- stopping at a Sydney research facility where oncologists have been developing new ways to treat melanomas."

"Lifeguards from Sydney's Bondi Beach earlier watched as the "flexitarian" king -- who gives up meat and fish two days each week -- turned over sausages at a community barbecue."

"It's a particular delight to see and smell all the top tucker here today," he told the crowd, paying tribute to Australia's much loved "smashed avo" and "cab sav" red wine.

"So thank you, everyone, for coming to join us at this 'barbie' today."

"In a makeshift field nearby, the king watched Australian working dogs compete to round up flocks of sheep."

It takes more than an angry Aussie heckler to ruffle King Charles’s feathers…

"When the Aboriginal-Australian senator for Victoria shouted “You are not my King”, interrupting a state ceremony for Charles and Camilla in Canberra, it took everyone by surprise. Everyone, that is, except the King and Queen themselves."

"The royal couple were unfazed by the noisy intervention. And for good reason."

"King Charles – on his first longhaul royal tour since revealing his cancer diagnosis earlier this year – has always known that he would become something of a target."

"The King’s visit to Australia has been lighter than might have been expected. There have been fewer engagements, none in the evening, and he did not make his hoped-for appearance at the races. But the crowds have been as enthusiastic as ever, even if a self-serving member of parliament chose to be disruptive. It has been a worthwhile visit."

"APIA (Reuters) - Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla flew out of Samoa on Saturday, after a visit in which the monarch acknowledged the Commonwealth's "painful" history, amid a push for former colonial powers to pay reparations for their role in transatlantic slavery."

"Representatives of 56 countries, most with roots in Britain's empire, are attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting that began in Samoa on Monday, with slavery and the threat of climate change emerging as major themes."

"On Saturday, the meeting's final day, Charles and Camilla left Samoa about 12 p.m. local time on a Royal Australia Air Force jet, waving farewell as they boarded the plane at Apia's Faleolo International Airport."

"For the first time since announcing his cancer diagnosis—and for the first time as monarch—the king took part in an overseas tour to Australia and Samoa for eight days of royal duties. But during one of his stops in Sydney, the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, a special photo was sitting on display waiting for him—and it featured none other than his eldest son, William."

"The photograph, which sits in a well-worn frame, shows a much younger Prince of Wales from a previous visit to Australia. Though the throwback image isn't dated, it is most likely from his 2010 stopover in Sydney."

"In 2010, after spending three days in New Zealand for his first-ever official overseas visit, Prince William hopped over to Australia with the goal of learning more about the indigenous community. It's likely during this appearance that the newly resurfaced image was snapped."

Princess Charlotte ‘expected to make’ big sacrifice for dad Prince William

"Princess Charlotte may have to make a great sacrifice for her father, Prince William, once he will take on his destined role."

"The nine-year-old daughter of William and Kate Middleton has already earned a reputation of being well-versed with royal protocols, may have to give up title, which has been a defining part of her identity, once her father becomes king."

"According to certain royal customs that surround the ascension, Charlotte’s future is set to change “dramatically”, per celebrity broadcaster OSSA. They told Express UK that Chalotte would have to be awarded an honorary title, otherwise when her father succeeds, otherwise she will she will be known as “Charlotte of nothing”.

"However, Charlotte could be the next Princess Anne who was given the title ‘Princess Royal’ but even that has a set condition. Charlotte can get the title if William is King but also if Princess Anne is no longer alive and that is how she will inherit the title. It remains to be seen how things pan out for Charlotte when the time comes."

King Charles Got All Dressed Up for the ‘Gladiator 2' Premiere....

"Today, the 75-year-old monarch attended the London premiere of Gladiator II at the Leicester Square Odeon. King Charles wore a classic black tuxedo, complete with a bow tie. He shook hands with multiple members of the cast (including Pedro Pascal). And much to my delight, there’s a photo to prove it."

"King Charles attended the event by himself. The solo appearance shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to royal aficionados because Queen Camilla is currently recovering from a chest infection."
