There is a market here in Canada for southern US rust free muscle cars as imports. A drive able mid 70's Chevy with a big block that starts, drives, steers, stops and doesn't have massive holes in the floor, is worth about $10k more than it sells for in Georgia, or Alabama. Here if the car is older than 25 years, you can get "historic plates " for it, and "casual use insurance " for about $200 a year. No import duties bringing it into Canada , either. No requirements for emissions testing, but it must, at some time after arrival, pass a Provincial mechanical fitness inspection, after which you can buy Provincial license plates and insurance for it.
A long time friend of mine does just that as a business operation. He buys cars from the south, after seeing them in person, then has them shipped to his shop in the Toronto area. He does about 20 cars a year in his shop Auto Tech Motors. A $7k investment on his part, can bring him over $50k when it sells, minus his costs and time . Jimb In Toronto.
