Reverse phone number search

Has anyone found a website that does a reverse phone number search that is actually free or doesn't require any personal information? All I can find are pay sites or others that want my email address. There used to be sites where I was able to enter a phone number to see who it was that called me. Sometimes I miss a call or don't want to answer a call because I don't recognize the number and I'd like to be able to find out if it was a scam call, robo call, or an actual real person.

Yeah, that's what I do, Google the number. But all that comes up are pay phone number sites like Spokeo. There's another one that always wants to email me the results but I don't use that either. Some say they're free but auto-direct you to another site which invariably turns out to be Spokeo again. Frustrating.

I Google the area code if it's different from my area code. As someone mentioned if it's an important call they will leave a message. I have quite a few many blocked numbers.

This is a true story. I have a friend that I have been texting but no response. She called me about week ago and left a message. She told me she have been trying to reach me - phone call and text. She changed her cell#. Her phone number was one that I blocked because I did not recognize it and during that time, she did not leave a message. We finally connected and had a good laugh.
