Snow in November forward

Here where I live in Washington State USA, we occasionally have
some snowfall in November, although not as often as in late
December, January and February.

We have had a light dusting of snow on Thanksgiving before.

When is your first snowfall likely to happen?

Our overnight temps here are getting colder
past few weeks, so now about low 40's overnight.
Daytime highs are in the mid 50's mostly.

Yesterday was 81 degrees F in New England but that's unusual. Nice but unusual. Our first snowfall is usually in Dec. or Jan. Significant snowfall begins in Jan.

I haven't looked at projections yet, but we often have snow well before November.

We almost had a snowy Halloween but got rain. However we did get very light snowfall without accumulation in late September.

But I have driven home from Thanksgiving with family 80 miles from here through blizzards. Once so heavy it was hard to see well enough to stay on the highway and even "beached" the car in very deep snow accumulated in the driveway when I arrived home.

In N.Eastern PA., normally Xmas will have no snow on the ground. Yet anytime there's a huge rain event and cold weather, we could get socked. By the first 2 weeks of January, we'll get snow. Then till the end of February, we can get swamped. The last ten years have been a lot less snowy than 30 years ago.

It has been Workers Man weather here for the last 9 weeks minus a couple of rain days that loosen up the ground too.
Mid 80's and Upper 60's F. are cool news. Tomorrow is a day I look forward to. Mid 60'sF. Highs and lows in the low 40's F.
