My family lives there near Boston.Dear Camper 6, I was born and raised in Massachusetts, in a small town south of Worcester. I used to love it when tourists tried to say "Worcester". Since this is Massachusetts, we don't pay any attention to how things are spelled, only what we call them. Think of how JFK sounded. Worcester is "Wistah". And Leominster is "Lemonstah". Now, to freak you out. There is another Mass. town- Leicester . It's pronounced "Lesstah."
There is a town in Massachussets. Leominster.
When I said it, they laughed at me.
The pronunciation. Lemonstir. I dare not pronounce Worcester.
I was in Worcester the other day. Some say it Wooster which is completely wrong,I've heard Worcester sauce parodied by a comedian as, "What's this here sauce?"
