Storm Bert November Twenty Twenty Four

It's 's bad all around the country but aparently the Rhondda Valley was flooded the worst .... did you get affected Furry ?
No..but I’m on the high part of the estate. If I get flooded we are in trouble.
That third video is where I live.
Before the flood defence work the lower end of the estate would have been flooded.
This is a repeat of Storm Dennis in February 2020.
Same places flooded.
But more than a months worth of rain in under 24 hours-Anywhere would be in trouble.
Just happy it wasn’t 1981(2?) when a similar storm fell as snow.
We had waist high snow then.

I think the whole country has been affected. Where I am, in Lancashire, roads are closed because of flooding and rivers are running high. We were given warning of the storm and the council were out making sure the drains were clear of dead leaves (sensible!). The soil is poor draining here and there are many places which never get dry. Building on low land protects from the wind but not from rain.

Trains from here to Lancaster all cancelled until Friday due to a beck flooding the train tracks about 9 miles further north. Granddaughter usually catches the train each morning to 6th Form College so mum has taken her this morning. I believe the train company are now providing buses though.
