I know I am bragging but at my advanced age of 77 I have 20/20 vision. I have never had surgery and I can read the smallest print and I have terrific distance vision WITHOUT GLASSES OR CORRECTIVE LENSES! Curious if anyone else has a similar circumstance.

Nope not me..Ive had to wear specs since I was 3... at age 14 I was told I didn't need glasses any more, and I got to be specs free until I was into my late 40's when I had to get reading glasses....I'm long sighted as well, inherited from my mother..one brother and I have the same need for specs..

My sisters and one other brother inherited the sperm donors' eyesight...

My father OTOH.. always bragged right into old age that he had 20/20 vision...

The funny thing is that I started to wear glasses at about age 12, Then at 17 I moved to hard contact lenses. Wore the hard contacts until I was in my 40's and then moved to soft contacts. In my early 50's I was having trouble reading with my contacts as I only needed the contacts for distance. My eye doc suggested going Mono - wearing one contact for distance and using the other eye to read.

That was OK but not perfect so I went full glasses with bifocals or clear lenses on the bottom as I needed no glasses to read. The doc also suggested I start taking Lutein and a multivitamin. At my routine eye exam in 2012 the eye doctor said my vision without correction was 20/20 and he gave me a prescription for my NY State Drivers' License that I no longer needed corrective lenses while driving. I have annual eye exams and my visions continues to be excellent without correction. I still take Lutein daily!!

I take lutein every day as well (y)

I was diagnosed with a retinal vein occlusion, for which there is no cure, causes blurriness, like looking through a shot glass with clear Jello in it, and in that same eye, I just had cataract surgery, and was told I am at the beginning stages of glaucoma. All in my right eye! This all happened after I retired. So much for a great retirement. My left eye is 20/15. Life is so strange.

I had cataracts removed last year, and a yearly checkup this week. My lens in the right was clouded making lights very bright and difficult to see. The optometrist shot laser beams into the Iris to remove excess film that had gathered underneath my lens. It worked, I really enjoyed the bright red light show as the laser beam shattered through my iris. It was like a concert light show without music.

I wear contacts now and then. Mostly at the shooting range. I don’t need them to read or any other reason, except for distance like at the range to hit the center of the target, unless I am using a tactical light.

I'm very short sighted indeed and am very impressed at your incredible eyes. Well done!

No brag, just fact. --Paladin
