@Ruthanne, I like you are spending this Christmas day alone, so may think but we have God's love, we have the care and concern of others on this site, we have the love and trust of animals that depend on us.

The big picture of our life is so much more, so much others do not know, have not seen. Above all, do not feel lonely, cast aside, without worth for we have not seen the whole story.

God, has seen it all, has seen your suffering, has seen your pain, has seen any shortcoming, yet he still does not judge us, each and everyone. He forgives our mistakes, shortcomings, problems, he accepts all of it. He will hold us in his arms and wipe away our tears, tells us all we did our all with what we had to overcome.

I do not know you but God does. That gives me comfort, peace that he knows all but still loves me, accepts me and I shall dwell in the kingdom of God Amen

Thank you for your beautiful message. I needed to read that especially today. I did start feeling lonely when my brother in CA told me he was going to our other brothers for Christmas. I haven't seen those 2 brothers since my nieces wedding 10 years ago. I don't know why they don't visit here. I'm not going to dwell on it.

I am grateful for still having my sweet baby girl doggie Suzy. She is cuddling with me now.

I spent Christmas Eve with my son, his wife and my two little grandsons. On Christmas Day they drove to one side of his wife's family ( about 400 km away) and this morning to the other side of his wife's family which are not too farm from the first ones! Families keep growing and living further away and that makes it difficult sometimes to be together. My son said for next hear (joking) he will rent a big place so we all can come to the same place for Christmas:giggle:

I'm glad you enjoyed the holiday 😁. I know what you mean by family moving far away and growing out where they are now. That has certainly happened with my family. It makes me feel sad at times. They don't call or write or email for the most part either.

My brothers do communicate every once in awhile, though and I appreciate that. I too would like to rent a big place for a family reunion.

Seems like only a dream for me though. I've never met my two great nephews or two great nieces.

Oh well I am getting melancholy.

Well my only family in Canada is my son and his wife and two boys. The rest of my direct family is in Argentina and since I moved here I didn't have any contact with them, except with my sister-in-law, who used to call me some times. But unfortunately she passed away a couple of years ago.
Sometimes I get melancholy too but try no to let it get me down

Thank you! Me and Doggie have just been trying to make the best of it.. Thankfully I have a very caring and helpful neighbor who has been so kind to me. Happy New Year!
