I've always enjoyed the times when family gathers to share a holiday. I love to quietly listen to the friendly banter of everyone even if the subject is just about chocolate chip versus peanut butter cookies. What I don't enjoy or appreciate the use of a contrived notion of a holiday that is the vehicle to promote some idealistic cause or worse yet propaganda.
