I think all the people who take the views and beliefs of celebrities seriously, should follow them to wherever they go. Then they will all be happy. Oh, tax the celebrities for their “fair share“ before they take their riches out of the country.

I just saw a funny video in which Jimmy Kimmel asked Wanda Sykes, who had talked about being lesbian and Black in this new "climate", would she consider moving out of the country because...well...you know...

According to the US State Department's web site, 6,788 American citizens renounced their citizenship in the year 2021. In order to do that, they must HOLD CITIZENSHIP in another country, and they must renounce their US citizenship at a US Embassy in a foreign nation, in front of a US Ambassador. The fee to do this is about $3500. USD. The 3 most common places for Americans to go to live and work are Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Once a US citizen has renounced their citizenship, they are no longer subject to IRS taxation rules.
On a personal note, one of our downstairs tenants is a US citizen from Virginia, who is married to his Wife, who is a Canadian citizen by birth. They were married in the USA, and she sponsored him as a Canadian Permanent Resident under a Spousal Visa. He is planning on renouncing his US citizenship once he has obtained his Canadian citizenship. He would still be able to enter the USA as a Canadian citizen. JIM.

Maybe they'll come back when they see the US isn't under a dictatorship and not much has changed. It's a sure bet they will if taxes are actually lowered, but we'll see what happens there.
