I slipped up and have Covid

Thanks for all the notes and well wishes. This is sure weird. I do have a razorblade sore throat and stuffed sinuses but the truth is my overall health, the ongoing issues have seemed to disappear. Maybe the white blood cells went to work on this and decided that they were not needed to cause inflammation elsewhere.

No pain in the neck shoulders and arms, no pain in the hips and lower back. I sure hope it lasts If it returns I will be out standing in front of walmart offering 5 dollars for a kiss if you have covid. This is a lot easier to deal with than my usual aches and pains. Isn't life strange!

At least that explains why I was so sick tuesday night. I did not suffer any respiratory symptoms. Just joint, muscle, and chest pressure. Chills without fever, headache.

Woke thursday morning with a vicious sore throat. sinuses stuffed up. No cough from the lungs only to clear the pressure in the throat.

Hopefully that will be the worst of it. I knew I would eventually catch it, I had been lucky so far. I think I picked it up going to physical therapy. That is really the only thing I have done out of my routine.
Same here. Husband and I currently recovering from our first cases. It's been mild. We're very vaccinated and took Paxlovid.

we lost our Covid virginity with this variant. We're home with it now- it hasn't been awful, just very very boring. We're vaccinated (everytime) and took Paxlovid.

We used to worry because with her low kidney function my wife wouldn't have been able to take Paxlovid but now they have a version just for that so while we'd rather just skip it we don't worry as much.

Losing my sense of taste was the most annoying symptom for me when I had with Covid a couple years back. It eventually came back not too long after but eating without ability to taste was a chore rather than something to enjoy.
Be well soon 🤗
I had Covid for the second time this past June. The loss of smell and taste is very disconcerting and I totally lost my appetite for 8 weeks afterward. Be patient, it will all come back.

Taste is still off, appetite is still down. Dry cough, runny nose, eyes are watering and have pressure in right eye. Did also have some stomach issues but that has passed. Still very tired. Thanks for asking.
I have to ask. Did you actually test yourself for Covid, or are you just guessing about this ? JIMB.

Our whole family caught Covid a few years ago at Thanksgiving dinner, after getting both vaccine shots but before the boosters had come into play. We all had mild illnesses, in my case like a cold lasting 2 days. I did keep testing positive for nearly two weeks, which at that time meant I was stuck in the house until I was negative. Since then, they've learned that you can keep testing positive long after you are completely over the disease and are not contagious to anyone. They are telling people to just isolate for 5 days now.

Obviously, there's no way of knowing, but I suspect that at least some of us would have been a lot sicker without the vaccine. Especially me, as most of the people dying of the disease were seniors.

I am fully vaccinated, and I have had Covid twice. BUT, it was mild, nothing worse than a head cold, some sneezing and nose blowing, and that was it. Definitely no hospitalization, not even close, Even the vaccinated should keep a test kit on hand. Doctors can provide a useful oral med in those already vaccinated cases.

Here at the nursing home where I work, one of the receptionists that work in the front lobby, tested positive for the newer strain of Covid. How and where she got it, no one knows. All I know is, I don't want the residents to get that crap again, and have wear face masks or face shields again.

Covid test kits are available from several sources. Covid could be mistaken for a bad head cold, or even the flu, so wise to have a test kit on hand. Here’s one possible source:
Americans can order free COVID-19 tests beginning this month

Also, there is a medication, Paxlovid, that should be available from most doctors. Best used very early in the infection.

Thanks, I will order some more!! I know about the medicine, but I did not want to go the doctor and then to the pharmacy. I felt really bad but could breathe just fine. If I had trouble with that I would definitely go to the doc.
