National Caramel Apple Day - October 31st

I used to like them on a stick, but not anymore. They seem harder now that I am older. I do like caramel sauce on vanilla ice cream with apple pie.

I have an Amish friend that makes his own caramel sauce. He gives me a quart jar of it when he has it made. It’s great because it’s not real sweet, it doesn’t set up or get hard and it has a lot of flavor. He also makes very good caramel corn. A quart usually will last us a year until the next batch is made.
