Reflections of My Life

How do you make your electrolytes, @katlupe ? I remember reading somewhere that some people use the horse electrolytes diluted with water, because they have all the necessary electrolytes, and do not have the chemicals and flavorings and sweeteners that are put in the electrolyte drinks that you buy. I think that I might have even done that years ago when I had horses and bought the electrolytes for them, but I don’t remember anymore.
There is a guy on X that makes his own electrolytes, (GatorGar) and he had his recipe on there at one time, and was still working on it. I think he added lemon juice to his.
This is my recipe. 15 Tsp. salt, 3 Tsp. Magnesium Malate & 2 tsp. Potassium Chloride. I keep it in a jar and put 1 tsp. in my water bottle. Not an exact science recipe but it works for me. Sometimes I add lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to my water. There are tons of recipes for electrolytes on YT. I don't need it sweetened.

The crows are going crazy this morning.......so noisy! Don't they know some people are still sleeping? 🙂 Not me. I was up early and already fixing my 2nd cup of coffee. Sundays are really quiet since there are no trucks coming to stores to unload. My building is pretty quiet too. The people upstairs over me are moving to a 1st floor apartment so have been busy packing and been quite noisy. Nothing that I can't stand though. They are quiet today so far. Not the crows though........

I feel sorry for Rabbit since I had to quit giving him any banana at bedtime. He gets his morning one but smaller than I used to give him. Something keeps making him have soft poop so I think too much fruit is culprit. Fruit is supposed to be a rare treat but he wants it more than anything else. If he does not have anything else he will go eat the hay which is what he is supposed to eat. I suppose it would be easier if he would eat rabbit pellets but he won't touch them even if that is all I gave him.

I get to this point in the month of December and start wishing it was January 2nd already. Tired of all the Christmas stuff going on. At least here we are not having any activities or anything else besides decorations. I can live with that. I will not be going to any if they have them because they are usually focused on food and especially sweets. Not going to tempt myself if I can help it.

This is the most stressful time of the year for a lot of people. Not only financial but health wise as well. The question most asked in my keto groups or on the YT channels. How to stay on keto or carnivore during the holidays (from Thanksgiving to New Years)? My answer? Live alone and spend the holidays at home alone. I have no problem with it.

This afternoon I did a bit more tweaking of winterizing my windows and sill. It was a bit cold and since Rabbit is on the floor I need to keep it warmer down there. I can just layer up. Not him. So I put a lot of bubble wrap in place and then a flannel sheet doubled over along the window sill. It feels warmer but I don't know how it feels to him. He's not talking.

Sonny went to a RC race in Syracuse yesterday with his friend who had a car in the race. An all day thing for him so he called me early this morning (for him) and has been sleeping the rest of the day. If someone says the word race to him...........he is off! No matter how he feels.

I know what you are going through with the keto challenge. I also have difficulty socializing during the holidays because of the food.

Woke up this morning to the sounds of snow removal. I should have figured it would snow since I had put off ordering groceries yesterday. Thought I would wait till today and Rabbit had just enough spring mix to get to this morning. I usually don't order on a day we have a lot of snow so they don't have to drive in the snow. But Rabbit comes first...........

Now I am hearing a sound outside I am not familiar with. A constant noise and does not sound like a vehicle. Made me look out the window and in the sky to see if the drones had found us. Sky is dark so could not see anything. Most of the window is covered so can't see much out of it. Oh well, what it is probably won't affect me.

Sonny is coming here Wednesday to drive me to my foot doctor appointment. I was going to walk but he offered so I said, "heck yeah." Then if I want to go to a store I can.

Wonder why every time I sweep the floor and check it to see nothing is left behind...........I come back to put the broom and dustpan away and there are a few scraps of hay left behind???? How can that be? I really check it good. No matter how many times I check when I come back I find more hay on the floor (right where I just swept!).

It is the dust bunnies making a mess! Pesky little things!
