This morning I turned the radio to one of the local stations I regularly listen to, was shocked to hear a Christmas song
At first I thought it was a after Halloween joke, until I heard the next song, more of the same.I heard the ad'your Christmas music station',Yikes!!!!
I won't be listening to this station any longer
When is it too early to play Christmas music?

A Facebook friend who also lives in Buffalo posted about that yesterday. Must be same station. Wonder if they are owned by the same company as a station here. My opinion is occasional Christmas starting after Thanksgiving. 24 hours starting Christmas eve. Yikes

I start listening to them after T'giving even tho I luv hearing and singing to them....like to drag out Autumn long as I can...
actually heard Xmas music before H'ween in a dollar store, geez....its all about making more money for the retailers, getting you in the mood to shop more....

I love the real Christmas carols, especially the old ones. Of course, they don't play those in the retail stores, only the more modern schlock.
Every year, as soon as I hear the first renditions of It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, or Frosty the Snowman, I have a strong desire
to barf.

Even more so when it begins in October!

Sad to say but Christmas has become a mad commercial money rip-off. Two months of Christmas music is 1.5 months too much. I stay away from stores at this time of year. Only go to the grocery store & our local library. We read about global warming. Christmas with all that junk is part of the problem. Most of that stuff goes into landfills.

It is good to have Christmas music on 45's & LP Records, so when you are ready for them, you can play the old, vintage Carols when you want to hear them.

Don't listen to the radio much. When I want Christmas I listed to my Elvis Christmas cd. Some of them he sings in a blues r and b fashion but most are the old ones I love. Of course I have his cds in my car too as he is my favorite singer of all times.

Two weeks before Christmas would be fine with me as far as the music is concerned. I can't stand those sickening sweet Hallmark movies either. One is like another.
I often wonder way everyone rushes the season and yet only a day or two after the New Year the streets are littered with Christmas trees.
I remember as a kid in the 50s having our tree up until the end of January and even then we hated to see it go.

I'm with you on that @Ruth n Jersey . They all seem to have the same design, too. A mean woman needs a bf and one comes along and turns her into a nice sweet girl who loves Christmas! LOL  Occasionally I do find one I like on there though like one I saw last week about a dog and a boy and him reuniting with his mother and getting to keep the dog. I'm a sucker for movies with dogs in them!

Waaay too early! After Thanksgiving would be the earliest for me....and that would be too early. A week before would be fine.

Couple weeks ago I was channel flipping and noticed some of the stations (Hallmark, Lifetime) are showing Christmas themed movies, and this was even before Halloween! Sheesh.
I LOVE LOVE Hallmark Christmas Movies... Crown for Christmas is one of my favorites. I have it recorded on my DVR.. it puts me to sleep if I wake up through the night.
