yesterday I visited a Family owned London museum which specialises in All things British retro, & Vintage. This includes Cars, Bikes, Motorbikes, Toys, Cameras, Electronics, Uniforms.. you name it if you wanna donate a retro item to this museum they will not turn you away.

They have made the whole 4 floor museum like a Warehouse ..it had originally been a Pumping station, and so to tie in with the retro theme they've pretty much left it as it was... . They've done the same with the Donated Vintage items. They've not retouched them, or made them different to how they originally were, so everything you see , cracks, marks, everything is as it originally came to them... and how you might have seen them back in the day

the only exception is that they ensure that all the vintage cars are kept clean and polished..

They also have an outside courtyard which they've made into a replica London Motor vehicle repairs and workshop alley so to speak.

Much of these items were around when I was a kid... so unlike the London Museums they are things I experienced a s a child... and was fascinated to see them once again 6 decades later...

As the museum is an Eclectic mix of retro and vintage items..I will just post them in no particular order.. enjoy

Brits aside.... I know you all have seen old British red Phone boxes.. but have you ever seen inside one from back in the day...the 40's 50's ?

Again most of you will be very familiar with the Iconic 50's 60's London Routemaster bus, which we boarded from the back...

But how many of you have been on one..?

We travelled by bus all the time as youngsters, and both my father & eldest brother were bus drivers...

the stairs were very narrow and extremely steep, and the driver wouldn't wait for you to sit down before he drove on, so it was perilous climbing the stairs on a moving bus back in the day....

This was one of my favourites from the whole exhibition...

It's an ambulance from the 50's and 60's... so it's about 70 years old now..or more..

The amazing thing about these ambulances back in the day is the very basic equipment inside them... I don't know if the uSA was the same I'm sure @Lewkat and or @CinnamonSugar can tell us... but certainly these here were very basic.

The monitor is an added extra explaining in Video the history of this particular ambulance model

Brits will recognise this instantly. It's the iconic tiny disability car from the 1950's

After the war there was a great demand for vehicle for the chronically disabled ex servicemen and women... so this little one person car was born..I think it was phased out about 20 years later when adaptions for the disabled were met in normal cars

Interior... no pedals... I think the floor was made from wood...

Sorry @hollydolly, I don’t have any experience with ambulances, new or antique
