Ambulances in the USA always had the current equipment in them. Even today, people would be amazed what the average ambulance carries. The Paramedics are ready for most crises. This was one of my favourites from the whole exhibition...
It's an ambulance from the 50's and 60's... so i's about 70 years old now..or more..
The amazing thing about these ambulances back in the day is the very basic equipment inside them... I don't know if the uSA was the same I'm sure @Lewkat and or @CinnamonSugar can tell us... but certainly these here were very basic.
The monitor is an added extra explaining in Video the history of this particular ambulance model
it didn't take us hours to go around, but it easily could if you looked at every exhibit.. for example.. there are several glass cases of Vintage cameras ( I'll post photos tomorrow).. so if you were interested in those alone you could be there for a good while. What cool pictures! And what a great idea for a business. It must have taken hours to get through the entire place.
The ambulances here Lois.. are like mini hospitals..they have a vast amount of equipment in themAmbulances in the USA always had the current equipment in them. Even today, people would be amazed what the average ambulance carries. The Paramedics are ready for most crises.
Enfield...Where is that place, Holly? It's reminiscent of The Mill Toy & Pedal Car Museum.
yes they are all from hundreds of donators...some in fabulous condition, other not so much...but still a historical record.Everything looks to be in pretty good shape, Holly. Whoever owned those items, took good care of them.
You're so welcome....Thanks for looking and enjoying ...Thanks for another great trip, from my couch to your country. I love all the trips and walks you take us on.
glad you enjoyed it Mizmo...thanks for looking.. of course I realise that everything is British centirc.. but I think it's still very fascinating even for Non Brits who enjoy retro things..
thank you Kat.. .. yes I love Retro things as well..It's a fab day out for me when I get the chance to go see a museum full of it..Love your photos! I love seeing that kind of stuff.
When, 40+ years ago, I moved to the part of the valley that I now live in, there was a Welsh woman who had a shop pretty much in this style. She was an immigrant from Britain, but I never learned how long she'd been living here. This is a vintage Mock shop as it would have been 70 or 80 years ago
How very strange ! Maybe she had a shop like this in the 50's and when she arrived in the USA set it up exactly the same way... doesn't sound like she was very happy ...When, 40+ years ago, I moved to the part of the valley that I now live in, there was a Welsh woman who had a shop pretty much in this style. I guess she was prim by nature... she was noted for presenting a dour demeanor to anyone younger than middle-aged. Almost everything was behind her counters, and we got the sense she was perpetually on-guard for shoplifters. Poor woman, I'm really not sure whom she trusted amongst humanity. A friendly Irishman a couple decades younger eventually bought the store and restyled it completely inside.
