People often look at me like I am half crazy when I talk about things like this. There are so many things that we often take for granted, but instead should be taking the time to show gratitude for. I spent this past summer without hot water. I had to boil and carry the water in order to take a bath. Not only did that remind me how grateful I was for running water, but how grateful I am for hot running water. There is an article that has floated around the internet for a few years now. It breaks the population of the world down into a community of only 100 people. Of those hundred people only 6 would actually have any money on them at all. I won't go into large amounts of detail, but it basically states that if you have a house, running water, electricity, and a couple of pennies laying around the house, you are wealthier and better off than 96% of the people on the planet. We get angry and complain when our "fast food" takes more than 3 minutes, yet there are people all over the world who struggle just to stay warm and find a single bite to eat.
