What have you bought recently?

Just made an appointment for next week to have my hair cut at the hair salon at the college.. they cut and blow dry for about £10 ... compared to £45 in the regular salon...only drawback is because they're students and have to be supervised, and stop to ask lots of questions.. it can take several hours...

Also just cancelled an appointment for the hospital which I have every year because they sent me no letter, and I just got a text today... to attend today... so I sent a text back asking for them to Rebook.. which is annying because I really am having pain and need to see my consultant :(

One of the best things I’ve bought recently was a nail clipping for my tough girl, Ember. At 35 pounds she is surprisingly strong with a bossy, herder disposition which makes it a trial to perform such tasks myself.

She will follow me anywhere and is like my shadow but does not like being forced. The vet had an assistant to hold her so she could clip the nails without having to wrestle with her.

I just freeze butter in the wrapper. Mark it with the date and location purchased. Never had any problems with it (KOW).

I’ve never heard of butter being sold in a tub.
I ziplock bag it because butter can easily pick up a frost-free freezer-burn flavor, even if the butter itself isn't freezer burnt. Although I love broccoli, onion, garlic, etc., and also ziplock bag them, I don't want to risk some scent escaping and my cookies eventually tasting like them.

I ziplock bag or otherwise seal almost everything before freezing.

I have been on Amazon, prime day deals this morning. Yes, I went a little crazy but got things I needed.

1. One gallon tear free dog shampoo for sensitive skin.
2. New harness for big dog =bright orange reflective, no pull (yea right)
3. New dog bed for big dog - raised to prevent him from hurting his hips when he sleeps in the den,
hard wood floors. Chows are prone to hip problems.
4. Large heating pad that will go from neck to lower back (for me) LOL
5, One gallon of Green Gobbler for keeping the plumbing lines clear
6, Dog washing gloves with little spikes for double coated big dog

Thats the damage. Lord knows there are a lot of tempting things, so I feel good I was able to avoid things we don't need.

Prescriptions. Groceries, mainly sale and clearance items. Paid enough to win a case of bottled water again.

I'll have to remember to bring the water in. Supposed to only get down to 37F but I'm not betting on it.

I've just bought a new keyboard. I'm hoping that it will stop these endless spelling mistakes on here..

Also I've bought this Shark cordless Vacuum cleaner. I have a Miele but it's just too heavy for me to use to vac the stairs, and then to haul upstairs.. so I use small cordless vacs upstairs.... but they're not really up to the job of a deep clean...

My daughter has this one, she recommends it so I've just bought it.. not cheap, but I got it at a reduced price... hopefully it will make my life easier..

Bought some new under-cabinet magnetic mount rechargeable lights for the kitchen. On sale at Amazon the last 2 days. These are nice for eliminating shadows, can be automatic on/off using built-in PIR sensors, and of course require no wiring.

I was offered a members-only combo deal:

I've never been happy with the buzzy/booming sound out of my old Echo Dot 3rd Gen and this 5th Gen will replace it. I can use the old device for a future trade-in allowance.

The earbuds are interesting. Not audiophile grade sound but some other great features and versatility, and who doesn't want Alexa in their ears?

$45 US for the bundle.

Her nails are nicely clipped. We take our dogs in every two months to get their nails clipped.

She had never been clipped but she runs hard every day. The vet said there were just few that really need it badly but I’m glad to have gotten it done. I may ask them to do it at each yearly check up from now on.

Dogs nails wear down if you walk them on pavement or sidewalks. We don’t walk our dogs often enough on pavement or sidewalks so need to clip their nails ourselves or take them in. It only costs $20 per dog.

I ordered a red winter coat from Lands End. Very good price and I double checked the measurements. Sure hope I got it correct because when I received my confirmation email it says there are no returns.

When I buy a winter coat, it has to have snaps and a zipper. Often I don’t want to zip up my coat, especially in the car. This met that criteria and it comes in petite sizing.

Our dog (schnauzer or schnauzer mix) is clipped every two months, so his nails are managed by our mobile groomer.
