2024 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Winter is upon us, was 29F this morning . We got a couple of inches of snow a few days ago, it remains on the ground. I can't say the weather makes us happy but we love living here.

Snow starting here on Wednesday, going through Thursday but nothing significant is expected - mostly light rain. Thursday will be gusty though, with wind chill into the 20s (F).

We had 5inches of Snow in the night , its mostly melted , but temps are droping tonight to -3 and we have been warned we might get some more ,, my 2 neighbours have lost electric due to a break under ground , i feel lucky i was not on the same circuit .

We're getting ready, FINALLY, for a "cold front" to roll in in the next couple of days.

I'm sure you guys in the frozen North will not have much sympathy for a Floridian's version of a cold front. But I'm sure that a lot of us (me included....) will forget about all the pissing and moaning we did about the summer's heat and set in to pissing and moaning about the "cold".

You can take a Floridian out of Florida, but you can't take Florida out of a Floridian.

My area fell from 70+(F) yesterday to a high of 48 (F) today. Wind gusts 30 MPH and higher, making the feels like a lot colder. At least the sun is shining. This is predicted for the next three days. 20% chance of needed rain but no snow —- we just ice over🙄🙄

That means the heaters in the horses water tubs are turned on and they will wear blankets for the next few nights, as they prefer to sleep outside. In people years they are ~90 and ~84, they don’t need to be burning much needed calories to stay warm.

Welcome to "Winter Wonderland"!!!
It started snowing and blowing on Monday afternoon non stop until Wednesday morning. The wind was very strong blowing the snow around. I had at least 40 cm (16 inches) on my driveway. The temperature dropped dramatically too, right now it's -10 C.
This was caused apparently by the hurricane from Texas which moved North counterclockwise and dumped a lot of snow and strong winds on parts of the Prairies (parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba).

Today we have some snow showers off and on and on Saturday and Sunday again a strong system of snow and wind, this time it's coming from the West, California and hitting us.
And the temperatures will be dipping into the minus teens for daytime and minus twenties for nighttime! Winter is here!
