Welcome to "Winter Wonderland"!!!
It started snowing and blowing on Monday afternoon non stop until Wednesday morning. The wind was very strong blowing the snow around. I had at least 40 cm (16 inches) on my driveway. The temperature dropped dramatically too, right now it's -10 C.
This was caused apparently by the hurricane from Texas which moved North counterclockwise and dumped a lot of snow and strong winds on parts of the Prairies (parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba).

Today we have some snow showers off and on and on Saturday and Sunday again a strong system of snow and wind, this time it's coming from the West, California and hitting us.
And the temperatures will be dipping into the minus teens for daytime and minus twenties for nighttime! Winter is here!

Woke up around 1 am. and it sounded like the end of the world. Thunder, lightning, short power blips and a sound like a load of stones being dumped on the roof. It didn't last long - and Mrs.L slept through it.

3 or 4 inches of snow all over the garden, but it's a nice looking day. Temp currently around freezing, but hopefully it will warm up. It's forecast to be much warmer from Sunday.

As predicted we have about 5 inches of snow with more on the way but temps expected to rise later. It is absolutely beautiful ! I live at highest part of the county about 2,000 feet plus above sea level and we always get snow before Thanksgiving. Southern Tier of N Y. The farmers in my local still have not chopped a lot of dent corn stalks for silage. It has been an odd weather pattern summer here.

Apparently another storm is heading our way tomorrow. It's called storm Bert. Somehow, Bert doesn't sound serious - more like a friendly storm? It's supposed to go down to about -7 C tonight, but then warming up on Sunday.

Glorious autumn day. Started out at 39 deg. F. and I love it. It'll get to the mid-50s. My favorite time of year.

The highway crews have not been able yet to clean all the highways that are covered with snow drifting, ice, slush and for Saturday/Sunday we will get a another strong snow/wind storm with probably 20 cm of snow.
Right now it's -13C at 13.57 hs and for tonight -16C. And next week it supposed to go down into the minus 20C!

Heading into December with very little winter-like weather yet. Will we have another winter with very little snow like last year? I hope so.
