A flower a day ...

Please post one flower picture each day you are inspired to do so.

I'll start. Here is a flower I'm growing that comes from Australia. Names aren't necessary (fortunately for me this time) but appreciated.

This is a clematis. It’s called Nelly Moser and does well in partial shade.
Love seeing your clematis. I haven't grown many but I know there are quite a few.

Wish I could smell that one too, Pinky. Another flower I rarely see in my area.

Dahlias from my garden

Hollydoll, my wife calls these "old lady flowers" but to my mind roses better fit that description. Of course she actually is an old lady so I guess she may be right. I like the huge variety of scultrural forms they come in. Though their scent can't compete with roses.

Day lily in my yard in June

Great color! They tend not to do so well for me. Rust-magnets in our mild, moist air.

@MarkD - your spring clematis is lovely and grows very well. What I like the most about clematis is how they create vertical beauty.

Completely agree. I like climbing roses for that reason too but they are so messy.

That one clematis I’m growing now didn’t do so well this year because I pruned it too heavily and probably at the wrong time. I often have to make some mistakes before I get it right.

Climbing roses are gorgeous also.

The stargazer lily, my favorite flower. I carried them at my wedding.

This is just an image: I have a black thumb and have basically killed anything I have ever tried to grow, despite my best efforts.

Flowers do have symbolic value and the ability to captivate us even if it isn't right there in front of us. There are some amazing lilies. I grow a couple but nothing this striking. Maybe I'll start noticing them more now.
