A flower a day ...

Warning: I've decided not to be a scold about 1 flower per day as a maximum even though I think that will keep it a more active ongoing exchange than just putting all out favorites out there in one big file dump. Sorry about that @Tish

I liked the idea as it would check my tendency to do just that. But I'm going to look the other way anytime someone has a burning desire to post more than one.

yes it does....:D

Mine too but there aren't any in flower any how. But i did get one in the ground yesterday between showers which has been worrying me because it is in a gallon container and wants to be bigger. It isn't a tree but can be a monster shrub but I read that it can keep it smaller or even a hedge (yuck!). Pretty cool looking flowers judging from this pic from the internet.

So I've planted this beside the stump of an old cherry tree I took out and repurposed as a bird bath holder. I'll let it get big enough to cover the stump but not much more. I'm thinking 3 to 4 feet high. Here is mine in the ground and the plant tag.

And another from the net.

My flower today comes from a humble succulent that is usually more prized for its foliage than its flowers. This aeonium comes from the Madeira islands where it grows on sea walls and steep rocky slopes.

You can see how it can flatten itself to hold on in vertical terrain. The ring of new leaves will eventually flatten and replace the last year's growth.

Having flowered this branch died and the next year the two remaining branches flowered and died.

Fortunately I had previously pinched off a small branch which could never emerge from beneath its three larger comrades and planted it elsewhere.
