A Nice Walk ( with photos )

I haven't been anywhere since we went to Whyalla ..to take any photos to add

a little off topic …from time to time I like to have a snoop in ops shops ….some call charity shops it’s not very often
I visited a couple the other day while out by myself …I bought this cute Porcelain Round Pomander Potpourri Ball
it cute I’ve got about 20 of there’s in different shapes / sizes but never seen one that’s double sided like this one

I’ve never seen a pot pouri thing-a-mi-jig like that either. Cute find. @Kadee

We missed a couple of days due to rain. It also rained today but we dodged it. The walk was through the forest and was only a bit over 2 kilometres.

The river was really flowing today. In fact, it was flowing so fast we could hear it as soon as we started walking.

I make a drink out of fresh ginger for coughs and colds that came from the hippy community that live in the hills in Queensland
Ive got to buy more ginger and make more it’s most certainly gives the coughs and colds a good kick
it’s only 3 ingredients ginger honey and lemon ( all fresh ) it beats any other cough syrups

Thanks Kadee,
Fresh ginger and lemon are great for fending off coughs and colds. This cold is really hanging on though. According to the home kick tests it’s not Covid. It’s been really wet out though. I still can’t post pictures.

Today we went on a trail walk about 6 to 7 kilometres. It’s a rainy day but the walk was fun. The dogs loved it. This trail has lots of nice bridges and waterfalls. Here are some bridges, later I’ll show the waterfalls. The forest ferns are just popping up. View attachment 287556

Beautiful- what a peaceful walk that must have been! Glad the dogs had fun!

The recipe I have is cooked and left to brew in the fridge for a couple of days before straining the chopped ginger out of the juice …..and it get stronger with age but still tastes good beacuse of the honey .

Its sold at seaside markets in Queensland as a secret BREW (where we go most winters in June ~ July )

don’t know how they get away with it ….TBH ..cause Aussie laws state you can’t even sell a home made cake now days …..at markets / cake stalls / schools / garage sales …..without stating what’s in it ……due to the possibility of a person buying that food / drink having something it it they may be allergic to ….

I was lucky enough to know a lady who’s mother lives in the hills in QLD and she passed in her mothers recipie to me .
Ive only got dregs left in the bottle in the fridge so I'm planning on getting more fresh ginger when I go to the city next week to make more ( far cheaper in Adelaide ) oh I’m Aussie

Replying to myself
Regarding this photo of Whyalla , it was previously a dry / dusty car park, however after a light aircraft crashed into the sea ( passenger service from Adelaide to Whyalla ) killing 8 locals it was turned into a memorial over looking the area where the plane was found in very deep water . ( it was about 25 year ago )

We knew 3 of the 8 passengers one of whom was the local lawyer Richard Deegan and a lady I knew and a work mate of DH

Richard had a heart of gold…if anyone had issues and couldn’t offered a lawyer all you had to do was catch up with him sometime while he was out getting lunch or if one seen him in shops he’d give you the time of day anytime and and answer any questions you wanted answers for

I had some lemon, ginger and honey today. It really makes a huge difference. I make it by the cup and drink it hot.

My husband found some really good cough drops made by Vicks. They are so strong. They are called VapoCOOL Max ; honey, lemon chill . They are SERIOUSLY good cough drops.

Not many people make home made things any more. Our world is one of convenience first. It’s good that you are still willing to put in the effort.

Today we went on a 3.5 kilometre walk. It was 7 degrees Celsius. We saw 3 eagles today but they were so far away, it wasn’t picture worthy. Instead we saw a lobster boat going out to drop lobster pods.
