Obviously the media gods are attempting to normalize mixed race relationships. I know several mixed race couples but they are not at all like the media conveniently portray in movies.
Does shoving someone’s agenda down your throat bother you? Pure propaganda is what it is and it bothers me that nothing is being about it. Lay down and take it is what we do best, a day will come when we rise to the occasion and do something the crap we adopted as reality.

Whatever happened to cultural pride and heritage? We spend too much time trying to be accepted by looking and acting the same as one another instead of letting your freak flag fly.
 

I personally do not care when two consenting adults decide to be together. It doesn't matter to me. It's really none of my business. How does it affect me, it doesn't.

As for freak flag, why weren't those standard issue among the women when I was young???? I loved it when a woman would say, " I want to...." My response was usually "Oh hell yes and how about a side of..."

Cultural heritage? What cultural heritage? I'm an American mutt, and was a self-admitted slut.

BTW, I have never ever referred to a member of the opposite sex, nor anyone else other than myself, using with that word.

If you feel like someone's agenda, or a philosophy you don't buy into or don't give a crap about, is being shoved down your throat, turn it off; change the channel; don't subscribe, don't leave a like, don't comment, and don't tune in again.

Just don't be a member of the audience. SOME of us spend too much time trying to be accepted by looking and acting the same as one another. Let your freak flag fly, Ed.

The one where Americans fought for your right to be who you want to be in America. The heritage that makes people from other countries say Americans are too loud, too assertive, too confident, too prideful, and too friendly, as though those are all bad things.

perhaps normalization is used improperly, however, multiple planned instances portray mixed relationships. I don’t have a problem with that but Christmas movie formate is as predictable as canned laughter from early tv shows

Mixed race implies a mixing of races.
It is a fluid term used to categorize people into distinct groups, often with cultural and social implications.
But there is no basis in biology for these divisions.
In the animal kingdom (Including us), different breeds can produce fertile offspring because there isn't enough genetic diversity to prohibit it.
The fact that humans can do it (No matter the variations) points out that, even though there are sub-groups, we are all more alike that we choose to recognize.
Any issues are purely psychological.

That statement requires the assumption that "someone"(the proverbial 'they') are in fact attempting such an action. Why?

A lot of advertisements portray interracial couples so as to reach a broader number of potential customers, for increasing sales revenues. $$

But as had been previously suggested, you can always grab the TV remote and take yourself elsewhere if interracial couples offends you.

If you mean pumping oneself up to feel superior to other racial / ethnic groups, that practice is alive and well.

Everything is motivated by profit these days. All these mixed race commercials and movies are created to maximize profits. If you feel alienated by it, you're probably not their target consumer.
 
The media is always shoving something down our throats. In Russia they used to call it propaganda. In Canada here they call it "infocommercials." Many of us have become zombies following media "influencers."

It works both ways, there is value in preserving ones heritage by not DNA types. I am reminded of Native Americans who were forced by white settlers to become Americanized like the white man. The same is true with American Americans who used White as a model to be on equal terms with the white majority.

Nowadays people of color don't need to be white-like they are their own selves and appreciated for it.

Look up this Russian institute of higher education. The Patrice Lamumba University. It was built in the 1960's to attract young black people from Africa, to go to Russia for education, and a strong dose of Marxist ideology. So yes there are black people in Russia, who are there to go to school, then go home to their home country in Africa. China does the same thing by offering nearly free technical education to third world countries. Both Russia and China are hard at work wooing the poor nations, by building massive transportation networks, and electric generating stations that the host country could never afford to build on their own. JIM.

But that isn't who the people in the show are, students. They're older people in all kinds of walks of life doing all kinds of things, very unconvincing.

I don't think people worry about seeing such things. Of course they exist.

But I think when they see 10 ads in a row and they all feature it prominently, and in many cases throw in cultural appropriation... people have to wonder what they are being conditioned to believe is typical.

On the other hand this may be on the verge of becoming quite typical. I'm seeing a lot of men either leaving the US to marry women with traditional values where the cost of living is cheaper or bringing foreign brides back home from such places.

A lot of women from post-industrial areas around the world have taken themselves off the market as suitable wives. Considering how many places face demographic collapse I won't be shocked to see national policy favoring the immigration of single young women over single working-age men and families. Call it culture repair.
 
There are many people whose ultimate intention is to have 'one world, one culture'. They want to destroy any thoughts on different races and different cultures. This was the principle behind the European Union. Personally, I think the world would be a poorer place if this were to happen. One of the joys of travelling is experiencing different cultures and languages.
As regards the propaganda promoting mixed race relationships, like everything, it is taken to extremes. In Britain, very often, there is a commercial break with all the ads featuring only black people. White people are being marginalised in their own country. Many historical dramas feature black actors, which just makes a mockery of the whole thing.
We have a channel here, which features only old programmes. It is attracting more and more viewers. I wonder why?

As opposed to 20 years ago when all the ads featured only white people and people of other colours were marginalised in their own country.
However you and OP can't both be right - it can't be all black people and all mixed race relationships. 🤔

I have watched the holiday movies that are free on YouTube and they often have mixed race couples being holiday like with family and friends. These B/C movies, are quick to make, don't cost a lot, and look to please the stockholders, which means people will watch as many commercials as possible. I don't watch them because they are so predictable. You have to find movies that are well made, acted, and the script is well thought out on many levels. That makes a good movie or article, unless you are interested in a mindless break from life. :)
 
It is soooo funny that even as adults we whine “that isn’t fair”. A commercial or tv program will only represent the demographics in some part of a country as big as the USA. Media is media…and big business. Their advertising and content follows the consumer most likely to spend the bucks.
