What exercise have you done today?

I keep going to the gym. I enjoy doing my exercises and I am seeing great progress. I am pleased to go there with my husband as he enjoys it as much as I do. We go very early in the morning, that way we pretty much have to place to ourselves.
At home, I continue my walks or exercise videos from YouTube.

I did a typical 4 mile hike this morning. Though UV radiation is harmful, red light and infrared are helpful (to the immune system). Also, being close to plants and trees imparts additional immunity benefits. The Japanese call it ”forest bathing.” I try to hike in early morning to avoid the high UV numbers but still get the other sunlight benefits along with the “bathing.”

None. Have never subscribed to daily exercise unless I have some approaching strenuous backpack. Never had a GYM membership. Otherwise, most of my fitness is due to irregular outdoor activities. Between those activities, as a senior, am rather inactive. Inactivity midweek was easy during my 8-5 m-f working years as like many people, fitting in exercise on work days was never easy mentally.

So did not, although there were periods of my adult life when I was active in some sports midweek like table tennis. As a senior am fine say skiing 2 or 3 days then being sedentary 3 or 4 recovering. Yes my fitness level may degenerate somewhat between activities. But then that doesn't bother me...yawn.

I've missed 4 days of walking since my last post on this thread but otherwise have been keeping up
with my 3 miles of walking each morning, preceded the last two weeks by 6' on the treadmill, and prior
to that with 6' going back and forth 46 times in the 20' hallway, which surprisingly comes out to 3.4 mph.

I was trimming the neighbor's four 30' tall dying Italian Cypress trees that were unfortunately planted
long ago right next to the property line. Big branches have fallen from them in my yard, and the trees are
an extreme fire danger which are banned within 300' of structures in various California counties, however
not in this one. I offered to pay for their removal but the relatively new (and quite noisy) neighbors want to keep
them. Thus I've been using my friend's tree saw to cut the lower branches that come over my fence. I cut most of them
during the previous 2 week period, which was tiring on top of my walking, so I hardly cut any in the last two weeks.

The higher branches are harder to cut but I want to attempt cutting a few more over the next two week period.
After that I will probably have to hire someone to trim the upper 1/2's of the trees. In the meantime my walking friend
and I haven't attempted any more running, other than my warmups on the treadmill, so I'm hoping we can get back to that.

Added plyometric training about 6 weeks ago prepping for alpine skiing.

Leg Blasters - There are 4 exercises in the group meant to be completed w/out stopping 1. air squats 10 reps, 2. Front lunge, 10 per side, 3. 10 jumping split squats, 4. 10 jump squats. The goal by Thanksgiving is 5 sets, starting each set when resting heart rate recovers.

[Sometimes I get the feeling that Oslooskar is exercising for all of us.]

I've been back to my 10 minute workout for a month or so. It's just a fast series of calisthenics followed by some slow push-ups, but better than nothing. It would probably be called a yoga work-out if it was printed today.

I took ballet lessons from age 8 to age 52 and still do a little "bar work" every day. The best thing about ballet kicks is that you have to stand up really straight to do them and I think that's probably the only time all day that I pull my spine to it's maximum length.

Here's how we're taught good posture in ballet, it's different from the military instructions we've all had:
Imagine that you have one of those Hare Krishna pony tails at the crown of your head. Pretend it's being pulled on from above -up- up-up. You'll feel your neck stretch out, your ribcage lift up, your stomach go in. Now you're perfect.
