A flower a day ...

Here is a picture of my Wigandia caracasana tree in flower taken in 2006 before it had gotten too huge. The leaves can be quite large, more than 2 feet long and half as wide.

The flowers grow above the foliage which I don't have any good close ups of the individual flowers but found this online.

Here is another picture from online showing another one in good sun and as large as mine had gotten. You can have too much of a good thing. Mine had been about this size but I had it cut it way back so the flowers would be where I can see them better.

I think you probably mean Merthyr Tydfil ...usually just called Merthyr...

It's a medium size town with about a population of 45 thousand ..about 25 miles outside the Capital city , Cardiff

Those 2 names especially the male name are very common names in Wales :)

Whenever Wales comes up I always smile and think of this joke:

“I was drinking in a bar the other night and overheard three very large women talking. Their accent appeared to be Scottish, so I approached and asked, "Hello there! Are you three lassies from Scotland?"

One of them angrily screeched at me, "Its Wales you bloody idiot, Wales!!"

So I apologized and replied, "I am so sorry. Are you three whales from Scotland?"

And thats the last thing I remember.”
