Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

I just finished the first 4 episodes of a Korean cooking competition called Culinary Class Wars on Netflix. I don't usually like lip syncing but since this was a cooking competition, the food spoke for itself.

The food looked amazing. The cultural differences were interesting. I really enjoyed this.

Episodes 5-7 are supposed to drop on Tuesday, 9/24 with the final episodes on 10/8.

I avoided watching "Heels" on Netflix because I thought "professional wrestling" was garbage and that you had to be a moron to enjoy watching this trash.

But I gave a a try and I was surprised. This is a really good series. The acting, the character development, the writing and the drama are really good. I binge watched the whole two seasons in just a couple of says and thoughly enjoyed it. Beware however that season 2 ends in a cliff hanger and unfortunately the series was cancelled after that. Also if you are offended by repeated use of the "F" word you may not like it. Other than that I highly recommend it.

Did it change my opinion of "professional wrestling"? Absolutely not. I still think it's garbage and that you have to be a moron to enjoy watching it.

I watched episodes 5-7 of Culinary Class Wars on the day it dropped on Netflix. I'm hooked.

The next release is on Oct 1 for episodes 8-10. If I hadn't already started, I'd recommend people wait until the finale drops on Oct. 8. Most of the episodes end on a cliffhanger. But I'm having such a good time that I'm watching it the moment it gets released.

Many current series are not "bingeable" because they only drop one each week, or perhaps they'll start with two, then one per week. For example Slow Horses (starring Gary Oldman) is a great series but one has to wait a week to watch each followup 35-40 minute episode.

Likewise we watched the first two episodes of Tulsa King (with Sylvester Stallone), but now it'll be one per week to the end. At least they u;se a "previously" segment to refresh one's memory, whereas a refresh summary is absent from Slow Horses. The series will attract a lot of the viewing public because its themes are basic, appealing to base emotions. The writing is nothing special, Stallone is the main appeal, but it's refreshing to have traditional masculinity on display. Need more of that..;)

That's why I usually wait until a series is complete before watching it. (I'm not a patient person. 😁 )

Right now I am watching the Netflix series Beef. The first episode made me so sad for one of the main characters (it's a comedy–drama), but now I'm really enjoying it.

Exploding Kittens on Netflix is a hoot, although not for those who like their religion unpilloried!

In this totally off-the-wall adult cartoon series, God is sent to Earth as a cat to help a family that prayed for His assistance, and a divine counsel mandated that he do this “without tricks,” and in the form of a cat so that he could better empathize with humanity. God-Cat must also contend with a demonic cat sent to thwart him at the same time…

It’s wild, irreverent, and you’ve never seen anything quite like this before! Maybe this is the gospel according to Felix! 🙀

Watching "Holby Blue" on Amazon (only the 2nd season available); totally engrossed by the characters and the situations. I don't understand why it only had two seasons =(

I looked up Holby Blue to see if it's available anywhere else.

I found that Holby Blue is a spin-off of a show call Holby City, a medical drama that had 23 seasons but is unfortunately not streaming anywhere.

Holby City - watch tv show streaming online

There's also a spin-off called Casualty@Holby City that's also not streaming.

More about the fictional Holby City in this wikipedia.

After seeing Joshua Jackson being interviewed on GMA and Michael Strahan mentioning that the trailer for Joshua's new show, Dr. Odyssey got 78 million views in just 48 hours. I was intrigued. It's basically like a combination of The Love Boat (a more "mature audience" version) and 911. I'll probably keep watching. Well perhaps that 78 million was combined with all the trailers on YT because I don't see that any one of them got that many. It took me a minute to recognize him, but Don Johnson plays the ship's captain.

Regarding S2 of The Old Man. Like you, I wasn't as impressed with the premiere episode but wanted to keep watching to see what would happen when she meets her real father. I felt the emotion the daughter had and the scene where they beat the crap out of each other was...like wow. I thought one of them would wind up dead. I have about 10 minutes to go in that one. I'm "invested", so I'll probably stick with it.
I know what you mean about being invested. What's kept me watching is the acting of Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow. The story in the second season so far is trite and boring, and to add to it, Alia Shawkat as Parwana/Angela Adams was a huge miscast. She looks like a freckle faced kid from Iowa! Of all the Middle Eastern actresses they could have gotten for that role.... gawd.

There was a brief hope toward the end of the 4th series that the story might get more interesting. Or at least get out of Afghanistan, or wherever they're supposed to be. Middle Eastern type stories have gotten so over played that I could go forever without seeing another one!! Fingers crossed for the rest of the series.....:cautious:

Only Murders in the Building -Season 4-- (Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez).

I enjoyed the first season very much. It was unique and somewhat innovative. But each successive season has been less so. My wife is a fan of the show, otherwise I wouldn't watch it. The characters have gotten trite and repetitive. It's almost as if they're reading their lines in rehearsal.

Martin Short chews the scenery in each episode. I suppose he's supposed to be grandiose, but his lines seem like speeches, making him boring. I loved Steve Martin as a stand-up comic and the early SNL appearances, but I've only liked one or two of his movies since. Rather than capitalize on his sense of wackiness, they've made his character a rather staid milquetoast. And I don't know WHO cast Selena Gomez! She can't act, has a wooden face and delivery, and she never cracks a smile or laughs.

I'm hoping for the best, but 4 episodes in, and the show is a mess. There are 6 to come, so hopefully they'll right the ship.

Just finished watching the finale of The Mentalist last night. I don't think this is a spoiler but just in case,

It had me smiling this morning when I woke up.

The next 3 episodes of Culinary Class Wars dropped today on Netflix. I'm so hooked. I watched the first 2 episodes without even thinking about it. I was on the 3rd one when I thought that maybe I should pace myself.

NF Nobody Wants This - Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. Ten episodes, most are only 20 minutes. A rom-com, which isn’t my favourite type of show. At least it was light and didn’t take long to watch.

I just finished watching Monsieur Spade on Netflix. It is an AMC original show though.

Show Description
"Twenty years after the events of the novel "The Maltese Falcon," Sam Spade has retired in the small town of Bozouls in southern France; it's 1963, the war has ended, and in a very short time, so, too, will Spade's tranquility."

I found the post WW2 storyline in France intriguing but I had problems getting used to Clive Owen playing Sam Spade. It just didn't seem right to me but others might enjoy his performance. The production was great with beautiful scenery and outstanding music and sound. Overall, it did hold my attention through all six episodes but I was not overwhelmed by the show. That's probably my fault because I did have high expectations before I started watching it.
