What we see on the menu then is a little different than what we have now with some things ... or maybe it is a regional thing also. I think part of it shows how food tastes has changed over the years. Some of it I would eat & some I'm not so sure about, but I may taste it. I wonder if the fancy named dishes is the same thing we do now, but was called something else .
I imagine some of the food cooked at that time may be pretty bland considering how much spices, herbs & other things we use to season our food now.
