How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Your rain was here today. I made Branded Cranberries and my house smelled divine!
Aldis had some loungewear, with pockets, last time I was there but it was like thermal material? Is yours? I pictured fleece.
I still want to try making Brandied Cranberries....they sound awesome!

All this talk of colonoscopies...........today is finally appt. day with gastroenterologist (sp) to go over blood test of late September that drove my useless doctor to a tizzy. We'll see if his concerns are of concern. I went over the test last night and I found things to be concerned about that doc did not pay attention to at all, like vitamin levels.

You said certain things that rang true for me concerning minding one's own health. Thank you.

everywhere is like a white-out this morning...absolutely frozen solid....
winter-frosty-tree.jpg

It's now 7.45am..just getting light.. and it's really cold 0 deg....🥶

i have one more bedroom to empty out today, in prep for the big change-over of bedrooms, and the arrival of the new bed tomorrow...

Keep warm everyone..
Frozen but beautiful.

Sunny, all the ice has melted.. but still cold.
Just had a call from the bed people.. they were initially going to deliver at 9-11am.. they've now changed it to 7am...

''Is that ok ''.. she kept saying... ''Not really ''...say I.... she wasn't listening... 😖

So now I have to get up before it gets light.. to get washed, & dressed and strip the bed, ready for dimantling.. etc... very annoying...

On my early walk at 6:30 temp was 44 lightly raining as I went to buy local paper for myself& Connie
This morning my new end table will be delivered, the same furniture store where I bought my new sofa
For dinner tonight, I've invited my 2 Tudor Plaza friends, Patrick{ my real estate agent} & Mary for dinner at 6.Its my way of thanking them for everything they've done for me Patrick never been here for a meal, Mary has for lunch, look forward to this, highlight of my day
As I type this, the sun is out but it will be a cool day temps in the 40's compared to yesterday when it was 63

There are days when I just wish I could have a rest.... if it'd not one thing it's another.

Trying to get everything cleared out of the bedrooms as much as I can to make space for the new bed, and removal of one.. and without all the storage I'm used to. and stressing that they're coming at 7am... I also have been having to deal with more correspondence through my lawyer of more Ball OX.. from the soon2Bex...

You are most welcome 🙏

Well, fridge is done, soup is simmering. This is @PeppermintPatty 's "Spuds and Ham" soup. It smells so good!

I want to make @CinnamonSugar 's butternut squash soup with the Indian flavors, but I know I can't cut that squash. Need to look again for pre-cut.

While it stopped raining, the birds flocked to the feeder; mostly littles, sparrows, etc. Raining again, but 2 squirrels are eating peanuts from a plastic bowl under a deck chair now.

Doggie has been fed, snacked, went out to potty and as usual, on rainy day is curled up with her blankie, asleep.

Borrow a neighbor's manpower

Left: my beloved Mockingbird. (Kaila, yes, it's a Mockingbird but not a good picture, slightly blurred; the head/beak tells it.) When
it starts singing, then I sit down, close my eyes and listen, and I feel like being in paradise. Right: my Heidi loves to sniff flowers

Sunset yesterday evening (next to our house)

Left: My Vet told me not to take my 9-year old big guy on walks for more than 1/2 hour. So, on a longer walk, Ross patiently
waits inside the gate till I come back with the younger and still stronger pups. Right: They are waiting for me on our driveway.

There is a chance of freeze tonight so DH brought in all the peppers from the garden. Bell, cajun, poblano, jalepeno, and some that may have cross pollinated. They would be spicy bells.
I cut them in half, clean, then spread on marked sheet pans to freeze. Then they'll go in freezer bags to use throughout the year.

I cleaned the double windows in the living room including the curtains and surrounding area.
I told DH I miss my clothesline out back to hang things like the curtains to beat out dust and air out.
He went to get some line and will hang one that I can take down and up as needed. I love to hang blankets and things.
Several years ago we had some trees cut down. In the collateral damage a small tree was split in half. They took my clothesline and wrapped that tree and it is still alive and well with my clothesline bandage!

You’re gonna love it @RadishRose
Don’t forget to add the croutons after the milk and grated cheese

Speaking of soup, we went to visit the Aldi Aisle of Shame today. Since we were there, DD bought some groceries😉. I sort of snuck some premade meatballs into the cart. Meatball soup is simmering as we speak because it's definitely a soup day. Cold with a north wind. That's a soup day.

When I made two loaves of bread a couple of weeks ago, I knew they'd just let the second loaf get stale so I froze it. It's thawing and will get heated up to have for supper with our soup.

@hearlady I checked out the jammies...we didn't get any of the thermal ones, just some Christmas ones for groan-ups made with some kind of creepy-feeling fabric. I don't like creepy-feeling fabric.

Taking care of birds in winter. A male hummingbird is at the left feeder. For protection, the feeders are located under the carport.

For longevity (I am close to 89) I keep my gut biome happy, like with Kimchi, Kefir, Sauerkraut, Greek Yogurt, Fiber supplements, etc. MSN

Left: My wife cooks in a crockpot my favorite: oxtail soup, sooo delicious! Right: My wife bought at Costco another of my favorites:
German Marzipan Stollen for Christmas, but I pretended that Christmas Day is already today, LOL, half of it is already gone.
