What are you doing today 2023

I'm going to stay up late and be on the lookout for Santa. He's not coming to my house, so I bet I'll be able to see him in the sky in his sled with the reindeer. I once saw him from my western window many years ago.

I found it fascinating to watch some old stuff on YouTube where Les Paul demonstrated his pioneering results achieved through sound-on-sound recording using old Ampex open-reel tape machines in the late 40s.

Multichannel recording wasn't "a thing" yet, so he used multiple machines and multiple passes, relying on the performers' ears to sync "tracks" up.

He had critics who spread FUD about his "artificial" music.

Watching Apple TV’s season 3 of Ted Lasso. We had it for a year and could watch on the TV which no longer seems possible. Wasted an hour and then decided we‘d each watch on our own ipads. Definitely won’t be subscribing for a second month.

Did all the usual things today. Polished some silverware; will finish tomorrow. Never use it. I’ll make a point of using it for Christmas dinner.

Spent some time repairing the polytunnel after very strong winds last night loosened its cover. It's calm this morning, but cool and overcast.
Rain / sleet forecast for later so might have a short walk before lunch. High tide is at a bad time for our traditional Christmas beach walk, so we had it yesterday afternoon. It was freezing but there were 10 people out walking. That's busy for here!
 
Merry Christmas morning, y'all. It's pouring rain here. Temp is a balmy 57.

I watched Elf again last night so it's really Christmas. Today I'll watch A Christmas Story.

Maggiecat and DD's kitty probably talked to each other last night, but I slept through it.

Nobody will be awake around here for a couple of hours. We all know that 'tis just as blessed to receive as to give. How am I supposed to know how blessed I am if they don't get up and give me gifts? 🎅 🎁
 
I'm about out of chocolate. I hope Santa left me plenty of chocolate. And garden center gift cards. I need more to save up for spring and only have $175 in cards right now. And electric socks. I want electric socks.

As luck would have it, I lost track of how many scratch-off lottery tickets I bought. Needed enough to put in each stocking and ended up with an odd three tickets. So...I scratched and won $5. Yay me.

Geez. They still aren't up. What's a gramma to do? I could step over there and make noise...jussayin'

Well, woke up to a message from FB asking if I had requested a new password....umm...no. So, Facebook walked me through some security features. I did change my password now....but they did send another message to confirm it was me this time.Yes it was,

So, since I was up....I put my roast in the crockpot and have my feet up. Surfing the web. Later will watch a Christmas movie or three
