I’d forgotten about this clematis, @PeppermintPatty. It has struggled to thrive since I moved it.

I like them too and I think this has got to be the best way to grow them. In my first attempt last year I found they looked silly growing in formal setting but here is the one I grew and the way it was displayed in the Lakeside gardens.



I liked this other one too but not sorry to have grown just one as a trial.



I will be on the lookout for other places in the garden where I can grow some.

Nice color! Not the same color but I also liked the flower stalk of this bromeliad.

The plant grew for many years before blooming in 2020. The flowering lasted for months and I think I enjoyed the early stages before the first individual flower opened just as much as when it was further along.

Today's plant: first flowers on my newish Hakea. They look like sea urchins that have crawled up on it. The leaves are also flashy though not mine in this season.

yes, they do look like Sea urchins..look closely at them they're incredible.. nature is absolutely fascinating
