Reflections of My Life

I’m glad you had a good day and not being on any medication is amazing!! I won’t participate in a Medicare wellness visit because they are a way for doctor's office to make money and not very beneficial for the patient. I do however do a yearly checkup.
I felt it was very beneficial for me yesterday. I did it because I needed to establish a new primary care doctor. I was going to one over 40 miles away and at times Sonny could not take me. So I wanted one close by. I hadn't been to a doctor in over at least two years. I will have a regular physical at my next appointment.

Tonight I am watching a special video on YouTube on the computer so I can stay live in the chat. The trouble is that it upsets Rabbit's routine. He likes me to get done with the computer, give him his treats and then for me to sit in the recliner. I will give him his treats ahead of schedule. Turning on the television to YouTube and mute the sound. Then if or when I decide I don't want to watch it on the computer anymore, I will just move to the recliner. It is crazy how a little critter who does not make a sound can control what I do. He does though.

I broke my closet door. So sad about that. The maintenance man does not really want to replace it with a door. He wants to just put a curtain up.........I thought about it and no, I want a door. He is kind of lazy and will try to find the easiest way to fix something if he can. Truth is that he is not that experienced and he has 3 buildings to take care of by himself. He even said to me that he forgets everything because he has no help. Well.........if he was not outside talking all the time with everyone maybe he could get some of the work done. Not sure how long he will have this job.

Water was delivered. Then I finished organizing my closet. I took out a lot of things that didn't really belong in there. Taking them down to my storage locker till I can figure out what to do with them. Or who to give them to. Of course, now my shoulders hurt bad from putting things in and out of the closet. Oh well, time to do my bunny's cage.

And this is what he was doing while I working in my closet:

On 2 of my 3 closets I replaced the door with a curtain. It’s much easier to get in and out. But if you want a door you should certainly get it.

We didn’t have a decent maintenance guy for 18 months and we have 2 buildings with 150 condos. We finally have an older guy that is such a hard worker and is getting so much done. He has a ton of work to do because of the previous neglect. I hope he stays forever.

When we had an older guy he did a good job and did everything right away. He also had the other two buildings to drive to but still managed. He quit to start his own business and boy do we miss him.

This morning I packaged up a flat rate envelope with photos to send to my husband (who I am not legally separated from and have not spoke to in almost 6 years). I have two more packages of photos to send to him. Then when I have finished with his photos I will start doing the same with my cousins'. Need to clear them out of my apartment.

The emergency squad was here twice today. This morning for a lady who lives downstairs. She fell in her apartment (again). This afternoon for my neighbor (who lives in the apartment next to me) who was in a diabetic coma. I don't know how she is doing yet, but I see her boyfriend is back home from the hospital. She is pretty young, same age as my son, 54. I hope she comes back home soon.

So I got my walk in today. Walked to the hair salon. After that I walked to the post office to mail the package. He will probably think it is divorce papers and throw the package in the wood stove without opening it. Oh well, they are his own pictures. Of his family, kids, horses and newspaper clippings that were about him or his mother.

Remember how happy I was that I was going to be able to pay my rent online? Not doing it! I was going to do it today and then discovered there was a $7.99 service fee for me to pay it. Not going to happen! I will not pay them to take my rent. I picked up the money order while I was at the post office today.

When you are young you do not think anything of pushing a vacuum around a room or carrying heavy items to the trash. You can work for hours weeding in a garden even in the hot sun. I vacuumed just half of my apartment and had to take a rest. Then I took three drawers out of the big dresser so I could push it over about two inches. Boy, was that hard to do! But I did it.

I have to change things a bit around the dressers because someone has started chewing on it. The hardest part was taking those drawers out and then putting them back. Heavy!

Remember to pace yourself, @katlupe! Yesterday, I was outside pruning my bushes which were above my height. That meant holding the chainsaw high in the air and sweeping the top of the bush. I was out there 40 minutes cutting, and then sweeping the fallen cuttings to the side. At some point, I had to stop because my shoulders and arms were aching. I didn't finish all the bushes, but it looks a lot better than it did earlier. I need to do more, but will wait a few days.

He has 2 pieces of firewood and a hallowed out one.......plus he gets chew sticks every day and compressed hay cubes.....he chews on all those too.....but he still wants to chew on cardboard and the corners of my dresser. I doubt he would go for a dog bone though. I think I have it all fixed for now.

I can't hold anything above my shoulders or they will hurt for a week. I hurt them when I cleaned out my closet just lifting the hangers into the closet. I am glad I don't have a yard and garden to take care of anymore. I couldn't do it.

I would pace myself if I could but most of my projects are the kind I have to finish the same day I start it.

My BF (Sonny) has been in the hospital since Friday. He was scheduled for an operation on Friday and he went through all the prepping for it. Instead the anesthesiologist refused to administer the anesthesia to him due to his heart issues. So he left there and went to the other hospital where his cardiologist's office is. He has been in the hospital ever since. Monday they are giving him a stress test and some other ones.

This morning I did my laundry early and had a grocery delivery that I scheduled last night. My friend came up and brought me 4 dozen eggs. I took a ride with her to Walmart but I didn't need anything. I don't like to shop with her so I was glad that I had already gotten my groceries. I think it annoys her that I eat low carbs and not a lot of fruit or vegetables. I can't help it. I am not going to change the way I eat for her. I try to change the subject every time she brings it up.

Just now I had a can of soda freeze and started fizzing all over the refrigerator. Have to remember not to push them to the back!

I also hope for all to go well for Sonny @katlupe
It must be tiring for him to have all those tests done, however necessary. Hopefully, he is resting well.

I don't know yet. Depends on the condition of his heart. The operation is a circumcision due to an infection he has. Sounds little but it has been making his life miserable for at least six months.

Yesterday was such a hectic day for me. It was rush, rush, rush. I am not sure it is good to be that busy or not. It made the day go by so fast that I could not catch my breath. Today is looking like it will be another day just like that. I have to walk to the post office to get Jeff's money order for his rent. Then go to the bank to get him some cash. I figure it will be my exercise for the day. And being outside makes it twice as good.

Yesterday I did half of my laundry. So today I want to get the rest done. Towels and bedding. And hopefully I will clean the refrigerator. Just take everything out and wash the inside down. I am sure that can of Zevia that fizzed all over got it sticky. Since it is a clear liquid I can't see it but I know it is there. My fault because I put too many cans in there at once because I had no other place to store them. If I buy them in bulk it is cheaper. So I will have to figure that out today too.
