What I couldn't get this week shopping

I haven't see store shelves so bare even during the height of COVID. I thought Friday would be a good day to shop before the weekend crowds get there. Hardly any Bigelow tea. No fat free vanilla yogurt or Ben's cook in bag basmati rice. However, they did have store brand mini chocolate morsels, so I stocked up. One thing that bothered me, for some reason, was that the front of boxes on many of the shelves were turned inward. I had to turn them around to see what they were.
 

I'm finding it difficult to get small jars of Generic Mayonaise.. I can buy small Hellmans which I like but it costs as much as a large Generic ... but the generic seems lately to only be available in large bottles or Jars... I don't use enough of it to make it worth me buying large jars

I keep the larger jar (30 oz) in the garage refrigerator and refill the 15 oz jar in my kitchen fridge from it. I know you have a freezer in an out building but can't recall you mentioning a second refrigerator.

I repack large Costco purchases into smaller jars for my fridge too. It’s not very big. The medium sizes go at the back of the fridge after I do the sorting. It really limits my choices.

Finally there’s V8 to be found but not consistently at Walmart that has the lowest price, $4.29. The next store is $6.39. Yikes.
 
I had to buy vitamins at Walgreens (much more expensive) because Dollar General has been out of stock for so long. Their dietary supplement shelves have been bare for months. I asked a clerk and she said they order them, but they aren't sent. They were the only store that carried the Rexall brand.

I'd probably get them cheaper if my doctor would write a prescription, after all she wanted me to take Vitamin D and calcium for osteoporosis.

I don't know why they won't prescribe calcium and D for osteoporosis. Only drugs.
I guess they do prescribe D for some but not for me.
 
I used to stock up on Great Value fruit spread made with real sugar every few months at Walmart.
The ingredients were like homemade jam and the price was good.
There is no more! I checked two different stores, then online and it's gone.
I looked up online why, but found no information on that particular product. I told DH he better savor the last two jars. 😒

You might go to the store manager and ask if they can still order it. They used to order me a case at a time of certain salsa I loved.

It maybe that the production company may have stopped making the product. The salsa company that made this product did end up going out of business. It still makes me sad.

Life Savers. Today I searched the candy aisles and near the cashiers. Maybe they don’t sell these anymore. Yesterday I had to use a hard candy when I felt my blood sugar crashing. Thought it would be easier to keep a roll of Life Savers on hand. I also keep a roll in the glovebox for an emergency. Even if they’re stale, they‘re edible. My favourite is red.

Wow, I haven't had a Life Savers in decades. I keep spearmints and Werther's caramel candies in my purse.

I usually see these in large chain drug stores like CVS and Walgreens.

You know those juice boxes? They are small, light, don't leak. Juice will normalize your blood sugar faster & better than candy and has Vit. C.

Low blood sugar is a very, very rare thing for me. I walk an average of 4 or 5 km a day. It’s amazing how much extra carrying a liquid adds to my little purse. I don’t have diabetes.
