Your own body, what hurts today?

Just turned 80 and lately I noticed that I will be really into the idea of going outside to do something until I get up out of bed or out of a chair and realize how bad I feel.
Funny things is that you don’t know how bad you feel until you get up.
Getting old sure changes your attitude.
One day your a ball of fire and the next day your tired all day.

GP44, I can relate! I was the rare guy in the subdivision that did his own yard work (and it ain't small). I was always so proud of that, but a heart situation dictated I give it up. And I did so much other physical work that I either can't or shouldn't do anymore. In a couple weeks I'm having the house painted. It will be the first time I've hired a contractor to do the job.

As you indicated, it is so hard to accept that your "head" wants to do this and that, but your body just isn't in sync for the job. Sometimes it is almost funny, when my thought process is like it was as a young man, but then it hits me that the ol body just doesn't want to follow along.

I have advanced Osteoporosis.

I take Alendronate it is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis (a condition in which the bones become thin and weak and break easily) in women who have undergone menopause (''change of life,'' end of menstrual periods) and to treat osteoporosis in men. Alendronate is also used to treat osteoporosis in men and women who are taking corticosteroids (a type of medication that may cause osteoporosis in some patients). Alendronate is also used to treat Paget's disease of bone (a condition in which the bones are soft and weak and may be deformed, painful, or easily broken). Alendronate is in a class of medications called bisphosphonates. It works by preventing bone breakdown and increasing bone density (thickness).

I take this med once weekly..

Have only been taking it for two years..

I can not say for sure it has or is helping my severe Osteoporosis..
Fosamax is the same as Alendronate. Just a different brand name.

My joints are stiff. Apparenlty, the jelly that lubcricates them gets too thick and sticky overnight due to non sue and dehydration. An hour of making breakfast, shooting the neighborhood squirrels, and stealing my neighbor’s paper gets them well lubricated.

I am not laughing at you!! Your hair can hurt, I have cervical neck problems that cause pain in my eyes, ears and jaws. When it flairs my hair feels like needles in my scalp, laying on a pillow is like laying on a rock. When all the nerves in your neck are inflammed, it causes a lot of problems. I started physical therapy today, even this has been going on for years.

Also, to those of you having hip problems, my doc thought it was my low back. Turns out the hip joint had died, AVN, had to have a hip replacement. Never heard of such a thing but it is all to real.

Sorry about all the pain you have had to endure. The most severe pain I have ever endured was in relation to my double hernia operation.
It was like having two red-hot branding irons constantly pressed against each side of my groin.

I had never heard of hip-joints dying! So Looked it up and found this.
Avascular Necrosis of the Hip

At the age of three, I told a physician who was determining how severely injured I was after a car accident, that my hair hurt. I had been told to tell him everything hurt in order to increase monetary compensation from the Taxi company's insurance company. Well, in my childish innocence. i took the instructions literally. So when he pinched my hair, and asked if that also hurt, I said yes!
Actually, I recently had a phase where my scalp felt tender every day. It was worrying. My hairdresser told me its called 'rootache'.
Sometimes you can feel so low that everything aches. My teeth go very sensitive sometimes too, i use sensodyne and things get better.

After nap...95F out there. Neuropathy pain about 6/7. Hurts...now is the challenging time. To find things I am grateful for. The SF to talk in cyberspace with some old folks...or wise and feeling their age ( whatever that is ) folks. :) AC or I would be hot in here. My cats/friends. See it helps already. :)

I missed this boat! My hands are arthritic to the point if I just brush one against something I get shooting pain. My ankles/insteps are often sore.

I take a Turmeric capsule at night but I've heard here that some people take it mixed with something (or some things) which enhances its effectiveness. Might have heard it from @Nathan or @Paco Dennis but I'm not sure about that. Does anyone have a recommendation about a brand or mixture for taking Turmeric?

I take tumeric also and get much relief from inflammation. A university did a study on the effects of tumeric and found it to be helpful for those with dementia. People taking the tumeric started interacting with others and did better on questionnaires . It was a very interesting survey.we take equate which is a generic brand.

Decided to give this one a chance.
