Your own body, what hurts today?

I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis in my Left hip and lower spine, about a month ago. I noticed the dr gave me a referral for a bone density scan.
Follow up:
Got the bone density scan this past Tuesday. Kaiser sent me an email saying the scan was normal(for an old coot); suggested that I take Calcium + D3 supplements, my wife takes the same so I doubled the order from Amazon.
Yesterday had a visit with my primary care physician, was very productive. I told him about my left shoulder(a hot mess), he ordered an X-ray for that. Also wrote a referral to see a physical therapist, which I requested. Also authorized blood labs for me, which is what I wish to do annually, just to make sure things aren't going sideways. I'll make the appointment with the PT after lunch, am looking forward to learning proper ways of strengthening the muscles to protect my hip and shoulder.

My joints are stiff. Apparenlty, the jelly that lubcricates them gets too thick and sticky overnight due to non sue and dehydration. An hour of making breakfast, shooting the neighborhood squirrels, and stealing my neighborā€™s paper gets them well lubricated.
That "jelly" is called synovial fluid. yesterday at my Dr visit I jokingly asked him to write me a prescription for a half gallon of the stuff. He explained that joint movement(AKA-exercise) helps to spread the synovial fluid throughout the joints. He asked/I told him my body felt like crap in the morning...he suggested to do a few moments of body movements(flailing arms & legs) before rolling out of bed. I did that. I don't know if it helped, but I didn't feel crappy...too much.

@ Nathan, how is your PT going?

@ Nathan, how is your PT going?

I had a visit with the Physical Therapist for my shoulder. She taught me 3 exercises for strengthening the muscles that support and protect my shoulder. I have an app for logging and tracking number of repetitions and sets, for each exercise.

I was supposed to have an appointment with the PT for my hip, but got sidetracked and missed it, apparently. Kaiser usually reminds and notifies me to death for appointments, sending a card in the mail, sending email notification, text notification and calling on the telephone, but I got none of those. shrug.gif

...I guess I'll have to call and see if I can get another hip appointment scheduled, although I've not been having any problems with it.

I had a fall in January this year. My knee immediately started to swell. I went to the Doctor who said the synovial fluid had come through the joint. He suggested I wear an elastic bandage and rub Voltarin cream twice a day. I kept on my daily walks but taking it easy. It did take about 4 weeks before the swelling went down. All good and no repercussions.

WELL THIS MORNING, I got up and it seems something painful
has settled into my right foot, and the left one is feeling a little
wonky too...looks like the day on the heating pad again, dang it
all, plus my innards are still in turmoil!!!! not fun, but oh well....o_O:coffee::giggle:

Chronic pain of the upper and lower back, the back of my my neck, and my jaw joints. All caused by sudden and unexpected surprise physical attacks by "friends" and family members whom I had trusted.
I hope you don't mind me asking this, @Radrook , but I'm remembering when you said someone with a key has been entering your home and stealing your things... and you also said... if I'm recalling, that a "throat slitting" wouldn't surprise you.... so I need to ask. Is this physical attack a new thing, or do you mean the pain is from an old injury caused by abuse? šŸ„ŗ If it's new, have you reported it to law enforcement and/or other elder abuse advocates?

My ear is kinda sore.

My right ear has been stopped up for quite awhile and I've been unable to hear through it so early this morning I met my ENT doc at the hospital and he put me under and installed a drain tube so needless to say it's pretty tender, throbbing and I've got a mid level headache....I'll probably take a couple of Tylenol later to help me sleep.

My right shoulder is bugging me. I suspect it's something to do with my rotator cuff. I've had to quit doing bench presses as of Oct. 23rd. I have an appointment with my primary care physician on the 20th to have it checked out.
