I try to stay positive. I really do. Presently my life feels like it is out of my control. Just one thing after the other.

I swallowed my pride and asked my husband (technically) for help. He can do almost anything with one. Still don't have it up yet. He might have to come here.....we have not seen each other in 6 years.

You did him a kindness by returning his family's quilt to him. He will surely reciprocate. But remember you can pay repair people to 1. tell you how to wake your computer up, and then 2. take over control of your computer remotely to repair it.
 
As far as your Nu Wave, can you just use the oven in your apt. until you decide? Or did they take out the stove yet? If your hub can fix the computer, that's good. I recall you also mailed all his family photos to him.

I think that it’s great if you can remain cordial and help each other in small ways.

I hope it turns out to be a simple fix. 🤞
 
I have been researching how to safely use computers in a library. My neighbor uses them instead of having one of his own. If I could do that I could order groceries before Rabbit needs more.

I offered to pay the husband something ($$$) if he will come here and fix it. Waiting to see if he will or not. I think he is afraid to see me in person (old lady me!).

I am putting a charge on Jazzy presently. Then going to test drive it in the hall. That way if it quits I can get it back to my apt. Not taking it in the elevator. Going to do this daily testing it. For now.

So far I am cooking on the stove top. I actually made a ribeye last night in a cast iron skillet! Came out super good!

I know exactly how that feels.. because my husband is the same technically minded person. he does magic things with computers and can fix any, and even when something happened that was out of his control, and he would ring the Internet provider for an answer he always knew much more than they did... ...so I miss that a lot now he's gone..
 
Did not have any luck. Today Sonny has the cardioversion done to his heart. He said he will be home tonight. If so, I will have him order a new computer for me tomorrow. Same exact one because I really loved this one.

Have had a lot of conversations yesterday with Larry. They were good and he tried to help me. I got the feeling he did not want to come here to work on the computers. I think he imagines my relationship with Sonny as being more than it is.

Not for long. As soon as I get the new computer I will get another one. An unexpected bonus is that I am watching videos of NuWave cooking. I have ideas for different ways of cooking stuff on it.

I’m sorry to hear about your computer but I think it is great that you are on speaking terms with Larry!

Were you able to save any of your files from the old computer?

Thinking good thoughts for Sonny on his appointment today!!!

Thank you! I am so glad you are back here!

Since I have had computers die on me in the past, I keep ALL files,photos & music on my external hard drives. I have 3. Plus 6 flash drives. So think I will be okay.

Sonny is not that worried about his procedure. I am more than he is. My friend who works for the hospital said they do it all the time and it usually works good. So I am not worrying today (keep telling myself that).
 
So I proved to myself that I am stronger than I thought. I finally was able to place an order for groceries on the phone. Was not easy but I did it.

Larry is coming here on Monday to see if he can fix it. I believe he will fix it. I have seen him fix computers that were destroyed.

In the meantime I will watch tutorials about ubuntu and try to increase my wisdom (been reading about Solomon can you tell?).
 
Yesterday I walked to my hair appointment. It was a pleasant walk and even though it was hot (70s) it didn't bother me like usual. My feet have stopped swelling. It is the most amazing thing!

Not sure if it is cooler temps or the food I eat. They swelled in winter too. So most likely it is the food. I have changed it drastically and it is making a difference.

Sonny made it through the cardioversion fine. Of course he did not call me until yesterday late afternoon. I am not too happy with him right now.

Having coffee now. This is the only place I can come to for now. Tried to do fakebook but it was too difficult. Not doing it again.
 
Tomorrow is a birthday party for a lady who lived here. She left last December to go to rehab. She is still there. Didn't want to come home. So I guess she staying there.

She will be 100 on Sunday. Her party is at her church and everyone is invited. I am not going but think some people are going from here. I do not feel up to a party with a lot of people I do not know.

Her son and his wife have been moving her belongings out. A lot of stuff!

I'm so happy to hear your feet have stopped swelling!

Also good to hear Sonny's procedure went well. He's got some nerve not calling you right away, but sometimes men are so.... you know.

It's for cooler here, too.... 67 this morning but 81 now. Still nice.

I am watching the tutorials on ubuntu because I need to increase my knowledge of the program. At least now I can ask for help from Larry.

This morning I have been going through old seasonings I have. There are a lot that I had when I moved here. Just stopped using many of them.

Sorry to hear about your computer but mending fences with Larry may be more important in the long run.

It’s funny how those little bottles of spices sneak into the kitchen. I’ve tried to come up with a short list of essential spices and spice blends but somehow it always gets out of control.

Well do you want the good news first or the bad news????? The good news is Larry fixed the computer he took home! And says he is sure he can fix this one too. He is coming here tomorrow.

The bad news is the new computer has shipped and should be here before the end of the week. Too late to cancel it.

I suppose I can test it out of the box to make sure it works and then store it in the closet for now. The other two I had plans for. Do not want to give any of these to Jeff because he would ruin them in no time. He has to have a certain one and not a pricey one.
 
I think I got my computer all set up again. Passwords! I am writing every one down in my notebook. I had to make new ones because this is set up like it is new. I guess it is. Larry did a good job fixing this and then came here to help me and make sure I didn't make any mistakes.

It is weird to see him sitting at my table, which was the same table we sat at for years working on our computers. I keep remembering the good times with him because we are talking and that is what we used to do. We could talk all night long. I can't blame him for me leaving because it was my choice too, moving there & getting horses. They were the two things that pulled us apart. Too much work and it looks like he is still doing all that physical work.

Anyway, looking beyond that, he got my computer up and seems to be working good. Sonny thinks we can send the new one back if we don't open the box. If not, I will have a 3rd one if one of these conk out.
 
I am able to send the new computer back. Saves me $830. Sonny called Amazon for me and he can talk anyone into anything. So I have the return labels all printed out and can take it to the copy store to send it which is just a block away.

Anyway, I am looking forward to getting my life back to normal.
