Here in CT we've been having all that rain you guys in NY have been having. It's much cooler here the past few days as well. But, there is no indication of autumn anywhere I've been, yet. It's very green.

Like you Kat, I'm not fond of heat, and autumn is my favorite season but I don't want it to come yet. It's still early August... deep summer. The reason I don't want to rush it is I don't look forward to winter when all the trees are bare.

I love the fall leaves but am sad when they fall. With so much rain I am afraid we will have one of those falls when we lose the leaves early. I like when they stay on the trees till Thanksgiving. It is very green here too but the feeling of fall for me comes from the birds. There is a certain time in the summer when they are not feeding on the lawns as much. They are out in the woods and if you walk out there you will hear and see them. It is different here because it is a city though we are surrounded on all sides by deep forest.

Thanks, Kat. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen many birds on the lawn lately.

Oh my, that storm blew high winds just a few minutes ago!

We had a really heavy downpour. My lights flickered a few times so I unplugged everything for awhile. Now it has brightened up and has stopped raining. There has been trees down and flooding. Especially anywhere near the rivers or creeks.
 
We finally got dried out yesterday. It was a nice sunny day. This morning it was 54 degrees when I got up. Felt good this morning for a change. I hate to be someone complaining about the weather but the heat is hard on me. Makes me miserable. I hope it will be cooled down by the time ColorScape is here (first week of Sept or around there).

I didn't really do much today. Ended up keeping my feet up and coloring while watching a YT channel I follow. Now I am making my supper. Looks like it might rain because the sky was pretty bright and all of a sudden it is getting dark.
 
Today is the start of a new week and I plan on getting a lot of work done. Plus it seems to be a bit cooler in the mornings now. Today is supposed to be in the 50's and 60's all day. I like that! I see our manager's car is in the parking lot......I like that too! I have missed her.

I placed a Walmart delivery this morning for Jeff and three things for Rabbit. They are both always out of food. Also today is my usual Amazon delivery day and I have some coming today. By the time Monday rolls around I forget what I ordered!

For the first time in a long, long time I have been able to walk around in my apartment without the walker or cane or holding onto things. Able to get up from the chair really fast without holding onto to the table. Making progress! Yet yesterday, I could not. My knees felt swollen and tight. Yes, it is cooler today, but not that cool. It is sign that the things I am doing for my health is working. Vitamin P is paying off at last!

It is so sad to me to see how much more my friend, who has Dementia, has become confused and forgotten so much. Has she forgotten her life before? Maybe she remembers bits and pieces of it. Her children? They do not come to see her, even before this she hadn't seen them in many years. Then one daughter came last year to stay with her while her husband had an operation.

She seems to always remember me and Rabbit. If she gets upset and leaves her apartment, her husband knows she has come here. For some reason I can make out what she is trying to say. I think that came from working in nursing homes. I was able to understand people who could not talk at all.

One lady in my group was very upset when I got to work one day. I worked from 3-11, so as soon as I came in one of the day shift aides came to me to tell me. The lady was kind of hard to do things for. She had a stroke and one side she could not move at all. I went to her room and she looked at me and then moved her eyes toward the ceiling. Several times. I looked up and there was a big bug on her ceiling right over her bed!! How could anyone not see what she was telling them? She talked with her eyes. Like our pets do.

I was in the process of buying either a new NuWave oven or just the powered. There were a few of them for sale on eBay. Mine finally died last Tuesday along with the computer.

Though technically the computer did not die....the OS did (thank you ubuntu!!).
