I'm home.

@hawkdon...yes, you're here ;)

@hollydolly Have the meds kicked in yet?

It's sunny, no wind, but still only 48. Brrrr.

It was an altogether pleasant morning again. Got my work done and found time to clean the oven as well. And...got to leave at 11:30 when TL showed up for her 11am start... Good news for tomorrow is that she's off. Yay. Another pleasant morning expected.

Got my last load of leaves for the year out to the curb for pickup tomorrow. I just wish I could say that's all of them, but we're rationed on how many they pick up, so I have to pile some out back and then get rid of them come Spring when yard waste pickup resumes.

Considering what I pay for the service, I admit I resent dealing with a lot of the leaves twice. But I don't want to kill large patches of grass again either. We just get too many leaves to keep a lawn going now that the trees surrounding me are so huge. Catch-22 because if you let it go you get fined for not taking care of things.

well the day started well, got dressed went to cafe for breakfast, went to sit down, rip,me arse fell out of me jeans, grrr, finished brekki, held coat over me backside, got home and changed, went shopping.
finished shopping, jumped in car, rip, same thing happened, two pair of jeans in two hours,in the bin,,i guess they shrunk in the wash, lol

It's 7am, still dark.. 0 deg c.... very cold in the house this morning, so I've had to put the heating on for an hour.

Not feeling great, had quite a bad night, pain quite severe, but hopefully the new meds will kick in soon...I hope so because this morning I've got to be at the hospital to have the first of the cortisone injections in my knee

Not looking forward to the injection, but can't wait for the pain relief...

have a good day folks...😀

@hollydolly, hope all goes well and the pain is eased. You are an organized person so I know you made sure to have food, drink and ice packs a ready, I have never had it done but think you will have a different kind of discomfort but that knee will be sore and tender,

Let us know when you can how it went.

I slept late and didn't get up until 4:30.

There are tons of things that need to be done. Maybe I'll do them. Or not. Depends on how I feel when my eyes are open.

@hollydolly Is the injection cortisone? I'm sure you told us, but hey! I'm old. I forget stuff. Anyway, I had to have a cortisone injection in my shoulder once years ago. It worked well but right after it was done, my shoulder felt weird...like "full" or something.

@Purwell, fingers crossed for good news with your in-person consultation.

Still laughing about @jet and splitting not one, but two pairs of britches;)

Back later. I have to finish waking up now.

Okay. Finished waking up with another cup of coffee and two eggs and toast.

Still not dressed and bed not made but Maggiecat's litter box has been cleaned and I'm thinking seriously about doing some outside work like sweeping the leaves and pine straw out of the gutters, blowing the leaves and cr@p from behind a storage box...that kind of stuff. Not to worry, just because I'm thinking seriously about it doesn't mean I'm gonna jump up and do it.

There are a couple of Christmas gifts that need to be wrapped. The Hovel needs to be dusted and vacuumed. Did I say dusted? Dear me! My little ceramic Christmas tree probably wants to be out and lit so it makes sense to dust first. There are some dishes that want to be washed. And there's an online questionnaire from Kaiser that I need to complete and submit prior to next week's physical.

I'd rather go back to bed.

We went out on the lake for the first time in almost 2 years. It was a beautiful day for a boat ride! We had to get rid of our jackets....you'd never know that it was almost December. This is one of the coves we went exploring in.

Trying to get started on our day.

It's a sunny 25*,, Mac had his morning potty walk.

Didn't learn a blooming thing about hubby's stomach problems yesterday.
Afterwards stopped at Walmart for a 'few things'.

Back home & hubby decides its time to 'light' the gas furnace.
After doing so we check the living room thermostat.
Its not working.

Rest of house is getting heat.

This morning called person to come check the thermostat.
I think its hard wired into heating system.

Sigh......... Why didn't we write stuff like this down when it was installed?

Sometimes I feel that I deliberately isolate myself-I could have gone to a local library Coffee klatch this am- where there are many seniors. But for some reason I didn't want to go-and have no excuse-

It is a beautiful sunny day here in NY where I live but yesterday I went to the local village to get some bread, half and half an eggs and it took me some time to get the ice off my windshield.

The car had very little snow on it but I had to heat up the defroster and spray de-icer on it . Sometimes I just sit there waiting for the ice to melt-and it seems to take forever-but it is just that it depresses me to be unable to see the driveway or anything until the ice is gone.

They expect sporadic rain showers for the rest of the week, and temps a little warmer.

I used to be a Greeter at my church-but Covid stopped all that. But Sunday we are starting up as greeters again and that will be a good change for me. I like being alone most of the time but I am also gregarious at my church.

Yesterday I called a friend of mine as he has been dealing with a recovery from heart valve replacement and then he got pneumonia a month ago-glad I did call him - I have known him from the local VA for decades and got to know his family as well- and I had a good talk with his wife too. He said he might b able to be in church Sunday. His biggest problem is the fatigue of the pneumonia. He is only75.

Today I plan on doing some cleaning, maybe tacos for dinner.

Finished almost all of my Christmas cookie standards yesterday, including the most time consuming ones - sugar cookie cutouts for decorating. Today I need to make up pizza doughs for Saturday, then will move to making new cookie or two. Possibly three. Depends how much time and energy I have today and tomorrow.

The carpet cleaner is coming this morning so after DH has his first cup of coffee, we'll wrangle some chairs and coffee tables into the backyard. The house will need to be open all day to quickly dry the carpets. The forecast is partly cloudy with a 67° high, so I'll be staying in a sweatshirt and jeans. At least the kitchen will be warm once I start baking. 😎

yep cortisone .. or it would have been but I didn't get it ...after all...

What went wrong?
got there 20 minutes before my appointment to ensure a parking space... and eneded up still waiting to be called an hour and 20 minutes later.. anyhoo, just as I was asking how much longer it would be I was called in.

She told me I was having BOTH knees done today.. so I was very surprised, but very pleased... save me going through another dragged out wait for the other knee to be done.

She started going through her medical check-list..usual stuff.. Heart probs, metal in the body, High blood pressure, diabetes..etc etc..long list.. No to all... then she said... and you haven't taken antibiotics in the last 5 days... and I said yes... I started a course of AB's just yesterday.. and I told the doctor specifically ( the locum at the surgery)... that I was having the knee done today..he never said a thing..

She said, that was unprofessional of him ( well who would have guessed, I swear that locum was on something)...and he would have absolutely known I couldn't get the knee done while on antibiotics.. .. so she had to cancel today... it seems that you have to be 2 weeks free of the last day of taking them before they can go ahead with the cortisone injections..

Talk about disappointed and furious at the same time... !! so now my new date is the 21st of December !!
